requesting office change (EB)

Currently signed as a SA at an EB but recently had a revelation about where I actually want to spend my summer/full time but not sure how to go about politely asking for a change. Anyone out there with some experience on this/have friends who went through this? Worked my tail off to secure this offer & would rather not re-recruit.

Hey Intern in IB-M&A, I'm the WSO Monkey Bot and I'm here since nobody responded to your topic! Bummer...could just be unlucky but one of these topics will help shed some light:

Is this a situation of you signing for a satellite/ non-NYC office and trying to switch to NY? Or other way around?

Regardless, would do the internship wherever you signed and once you’re there, broach the subject with HR. Tough because whatever team you work with (assuming you work with a specific team), will be annoyed you’re trying to move elsewhere.

Not sure about OP, but in my case I rerecruited after my internship last summer and received an offer for a full time associate position at another bank in SF (both banks BB/EB).

Now, due to new circumstances, I can’t realistically move to SF full time. My hometown is a decent sized regional market where the new bank has a small IB office, but this office has no overlap with the group I am joining in SF.

Has anyone ever navigated a similar situation? Not sure who to bring this up to or even what to ask for specifically.
