my mentor told me GS SSG was the equivalent of current BX PE, by far the best group you could get out of school

Likely did IB for a time since the fund he ended up at is TCI - one of London's top SM hedge funds. S&T skillset is not relevant to what they do unless they were more macro focused back in the day. Think I remember he did S&T for a while too though.

u forgot his Stanford MBA. Guy is the real deal. And his undergrad degree at Oxford too if u wanna include that. AND guy was head boy at Winchester College (prestigious public school, think Eton). Guy literally jumped from prestige hoop to prestige hoop, when the average person NEVER lands even ONE of those prestige hoops. He's the average WSO user's fetish. Winchester > Oxford > GS SSG > S&T > Stanford GSB > HF > married billionaire's daughter > Chancellor > PM (not portfolio manager lol). Damn near impossible to land GS SSG out of undergrad, it's essentially a buyside exit for top IB analysts, I heard smtg like Ken Moelis's son was the type of guy to get a role there out of school.Sunak absolutely trumps the other MPs by miles and miles - idk wtf they were thinking when they decided to go with Truss initially. I do not know. I love him. Take my vote

The UK conservatives are a complete joke; they and Labour are just awful. I have little doubt that the UK will continue on a trajectory of decline under him. He's a centrist in an increasingly left-wing political party. Presumably, he was Boris Johnson's key advisor on all of the atrocious economic policies of the last few years. The UK basically has a left-wing and a far left-wing political class. None of them seem to understand basic economics and everyone seems dedicated to the climate change cult, to the point that they will sell out their own people's security for virtually no climate change benefit.

The guy looks great on paper, but he seems incredible awkward in social settings, just youtube the guy. You have to have at least a decent amount of charisma in politics to be effective in my opnion. Especially with the tories in such dire straits, the need a charismatic leader to win back the people and to unify the party. Also he seems like a bit of an opportunist according to some, agreeing afterwards on policy that seems to be populair, on the Brexit stuff, anti lockdown etc.

well those sort of awkward compilation videos are what they are - compilations. Everyone has their fair share of awkward moments that when compiled, would make them seem like some alien from Mars. When he was chancellor no one seemed to have a problem with that, but now that he's PM people are weeding out these idiosyncrasies of his. His speeches have always been very well delivered. But yeah as of now, the British public especially those from rural areas have not accepted him completely

I'm not going to lie as an Indian dude I'm thrilled that he's prime minister. Primarily because I faced a lot of racists as a kid and it's great to see an Indian become the Prime Minister of the UK not to mention Rishi Sunak is handsome(no homo). I know this probably doesn't do anything to curb the racism but it does cause a ripple effect in terms of perception.  He's literally the wet dream of a WSO user. I'm not at all into id pol but I would be lying if I said it didn't feel good

I was never a fan of the guy, especially a person who got his boss fired. I do not see him winning the next election. He is financially smart but that is where it stops for me. He cannot connect with the average Joe, which he really needs, second the people of the UK did not vote for him. And finally, his party is so fragmented reminds me of the Thatcher and John Majors years, too many internal fights.

SafariJoe, wins again!
