Take time off to deal with this emergency.

While your group is bogus AF for giving you a bunch of work, it's an important lesson for you in prioritizing your personal life. You unintentionally put yourself in a lose-lose situation attempting to be strong by returning to work while knowing your work quality will suffer.

You're not being a baby.

I think you're being a baby, sorry.

It's unfortunate that you're in this situation but sorting out new bank accounts etc is something that takes a few hours? You can't expect NO work at all. Of course they'll still give you work?

For being a victim of robbery you're expecting the same treatment as if (god forbid) someone close to you passed away.

old title

and even if i was an intern, it doesn't mean that my comment is not true.

Most people in the office would be thinking like me. If you are asking for a week off after being robbed, everyone would think you're weird. Just man up and deal with it.

PS The team should be understanding when you have to take a few hours off to sort out new ID cards - that takes some time.

You’re a VP dude, how much work could you possible have? The people above you have to hustle to build a book of business and the kids below you do all the work. All you have to do is review what the juniors do.

And what exactly are you dealing with?

You just have to get your cards replaced. The money is gone, it was only a few grand you said. As a VP I’m sure you have plenty saved.

You’re probably feeling overwhelmed because of the assault to your safety as an individual by being pickpocketed. I’d throw in those vacation days if you have them and just give yourself time to properly digest the whole thing as you go from bank to police to file the reports needed. Take care of yourself dude

OP - feel free to PM me.  I did security for corporation and the likes during my younger years, but issues like this - get in front of it now and resolve it ASAP.

You're not being a baby.  Stuff like this is an "emergency", and if the company gives you crap about it fight back.  It is not just simply money on the line, but a whole list of things in the future that will become a headache if it is not taken care of now.

Talk to your MD/lead and see about using an emergency leave to resolve these matters.  Sorry for what happened.  Your firm/company are not taking care of their own in situations like this.  This is just unprofessional on their part.

I think you should continue working and take a few minutes/hours as needed throughout the week to deal with police reports and canceling your debit card.

This'll take about an hour or two out of your work week I imagine? Is there a reason in between requesting a new debit card and receiving it in the mail you cannot complete any work? You got picked off, not jumped, not stabbed, not shot. Grow up a bit bruh bruh, you sound like a legacy hire.
