Seaport Global Securities?

As the title suggests, does anyone know anything about Seaport Global Securities? It seems like they have a solid foundation for ER with a little bit of IB in NYC. I couldn't find much about them other than some articles saying that they are expanding their ER department. Thanks!

A little late, but here's my take, knowing two guys who have been there in the past year:

Avoid at all cost. Absolute bunch of jokers, especially on the IB side. They have something like 13 MD's, 2 VP's, and only 7 analysts to support all of this overhead. It's a dumpster fire and people are constantly scrambling for the door. Unfortunately for them, there are very few places to go, not many firms want to touch you after being part of this shit show. Look at where all the MD's came from. A bunch of guys whose resumes show gradual declines in the quality of firms they have worked for before they hit the end of the the line at Seaport/Global Hunter.

All that being said... On the ER side, Mike Kelly is a strong analyst. They dumped a few of the really good guys in a purge a couple of years ago. Others in ER are former bankers who are TOTAL burnouts who couldn't generate any business in IB and were moved. At least Mike is respected, so he would be great to work under.

Seaport Group made a huge mistake merging with GHS. Seaport was a very buttoned up firm; GHS a total bunch of cowboys yearning for the freewheeling IB days of the 80's. GHS's grab ass culture has permeated much of the organization and the old Seaport people aren't having it (haven't heard an update on this in a while, don't know if things have changed). That is not a good thing. When I've interacted with my friends' colleagues and bosses at industry events they can only be described miserable.

Best of luck to you.
