Should I Preemptively Reach Out to Associates on My MD's Calling List to "Cross-Polinate" and Break the Ice?

So my MD has put me in charge of updating the buyers list for our sell-side M&A outreach. The thing is, I went to Harvard and know the dudes who actually process CIMs and build the models at most of these places better than he does. I feel like there's more value in me reaching out to my Associate buddies beforehand to let them know what's coming and shooting them a CIM before my MD just shoots out a cold-email to one of his boomer buddies that probably works from his boat and checks email in the morning and before sleep.

He's a big "cross-polination" guy, so I feel like he'll be stoked if I can get bonafied interest from an actual CIM reviewer by the time he's finished figuring out how to work his outlook and send an email. What say you, WSO brain trust?

between your username, picture, and Harvard insertion you clearly lack the tact to pull this off without alienating your MD or your MD's client.

Your tired troll aside, for anyone else considering this, you really need to have 0 doubts about how your MD would react to something like this.  Preempting your boss for clout amongst your nerd friends is just such an unnecessary risk.

Harvard insertion

You clearly went to Yale. Harvard's been inserting it in your mother's rear-end on the League tables since 1636.

That aside, I appreciate the input. Thanks!

You should rebrand as MelatoninMan because your stuff is sleeeeeeeeeepy
