Structurer vs corporate banking FIG

Hi everyone,I'm currently considering my next career move. I've been working in a CRA for the past 3 years, primarily focusing on financial institutions. I'm particularly drawn to the banking sector, especially roles involving structuring derivatives and managing balance sheets.

I've noticed that many investment banks (BB as well, even if they don’t have B/S) in London have teams dedicated to "investment solutions," which specialize in structuring derivatives and other solutions for balance sheet management. These teams typically handle financing solutions, not just for M&A but also for risk transfer transactions.

I'm trying to grasp the difference between this and coverage corporate banking. Do you have a clear view on that?

Depends what your goal is. ABS and CLO are more technical in nature, that’s for sure. Corp banking is a really chill lifestyle gig. I don’t even underwrite any of the facilities
