TD Cowen SA 25 - take offer or keep recruiting?

Hi all,

Just got an offer from TD Cowen for SA 25. Was always told this place is a culture bank with good job security, but also heard from employees at the firm that mass layoffs happened from November and still going on now. Also heard deal flow is weak (9-5 hours), with only 3-ish strong groups. I don't have privileged ties to those groups so I'm not certain I can get placed there. Not to mention FT recruiting is always a challenge, especially in this market.

Was told by alums I'm likely to get interviews with other MM and lower BB shops but honestly this is the only offer I have now. A few shops denied my expedite request despite offer in hand. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

They’ve had solid deal flow as of late in my particular sector (many bankers I’ve spoken with in the MM space had a rough 2023, so I wouldn’t be scared off by whatever their numbers looked like last year).

Aligning with your remarks around culture, I have a regular cadence with a few of the senior folks at the firm and have always enjoyed our interactions. All depends what you’re looking for, but I definitely would not discount culture when determining where you decide to intern (or even beginning your career).
