Based on the most helpful WSO content, there isn't any specific mention of UBS layoffs in 2025 within the knowledge base. However, historically, UBS layoffs have been tied to restructuring efforts, such as the integration with Credit Suisse in 2023, where significant cuts were made, particularly targeting underperformers and overlapping roles. Layoffs often occur post-bonus season, as firms aim to manage costs while retaining top talent.

If you're concerned about potential layoffs, it might be worth keeping an eye on industry trends and UBS's financial performance announcements.

Heard late-March from around grapevine. Not 100% sure, but it would make sense as it'd might be the time around when the guartneed comp for some of the low-performing MD's might end if they are on only a single year of guartneed comp. If those MDs are fired,  would expect cascading effects throughout the bank across all levels with obviously more firings in groups with more MDs being gone and less to none at some other groups. For example, would expect more tech firing than in Industrials or LevFin. Also not a coincidence that the worst performing groups are dominated by Barclays ones whilst the best performing ones are led and dominated by ex-CS or ex-UBS people... what could that possibly imply I wonder?
