Barclays gang knows this is likely their last year at UBS so might as way hoard as much of the bonus pull to yourselves as possible

Guess the non-revenue generating ex Barclays MDs ate the bonus. Better luck next time!

they're on guarantees

This is why UBS’ strategy is hiring 50% non-Americans for analyst and associate level. They  actively discriminate against Americans so they can pay $25k bonuses to H1Bs and underpay and undercut the fair market wages. The only junior “talent” UBS retains are the people who can’t leave due to visa issues.

I heard they were budgeting the 150k H1b fee out of the bonus pool, kept the numbers paid out lower.

firm would rather spend 150k on new H1b internationals from india that they can order around as lowly paid slaves then pay americans proper wall street bonuses(and risk they lateraling).

This is just not true lol... almost if not all the internationals are graduates from US colleges, meaning there is no 100k fee

At least get your facts right before you fear monger

For the GB 2023 analyst class, they deferred the start date for half the incoming analysts by 7 months. UBS discriminated based on citizenship status to make sure internationals started on time and only Americans got deferred.

If you got fucked, quit. The only option is voting with your feet. Fuck this shithole.

Regardless of level I heard everyone got $35k-$100k regardless of level and performance

I heard even Senior associates who came over with the Barclays bros got guarantees, there wasn’t a lot of bonus pool once the guarantees were all accounted for

The lowest out of any group I’ve heard. They hired dozens of seniors so allegedly there is not much left in the pool. Its leadership views all juniors as very replaceable so no need to pay them a good bonus

These bonuses are no better than BofA. UBS is an ever sinking ship. I recc everyone quit asap, which is what they want anyway

Are these numbers being posted real? They are worse than anything Ive ever seen

Agree they are hard to believe but it was a pretty rough year in my group, we didn’t win anything meaningful

They make a lot of sense when you consider the bonus pool was already allocated to guarantees and the bank did no deals.

UBS seems to be making up for bad top line numbers by aggressively decreasing junior comp. It’s a win-win, increases short term profitability and helps push out the weakest hands who are only in it for comp

$130k, but 30% in stock. Trash

Quitting this year odds up to 100%

Wonder if any of the associates or VP will quit. These seem like disgraceful numbers.
