What warrants an IB analyst getting fired?

Just wondering what it would take for someone at the analyst level to be let go. I haven't heard of any instance like this at my firm, and I've heard of some pretty egregious screw-ups where the analyst did not receive that serious of a punishment.

Never seen a banker at my BB actually get fired. The only ways  can think of it happening is insider trading (or similar charges) or a blatent HR violation lke sexual harrasment. Otherwise people just leave due to not getting promoted or bad bonus. Our old group head would give people a $0 bonus if he wanted them out but wouldn't actually try to get them fired.

I only saw it once. The dude would literally be playing videogames and/or watching Netflix at his desk, on his computer, without hiding it, on a regular basis. Additionally he would constantly text during meetings with his bosses and then would turn in shitty deliverables that didn't reflect whatever feedback was provided during the meeting and put no effort into anything. He had several warnings and finally got canned.

FWIW I went on a week long bender during the pandemic while WFH and went MIA from like late Thursday to Sunday. My MD and a VP called to yell at me and I just told them the truth and they were basically like thanks for coming clean, just figure it the fuck out or we're going to have a problem. Same company. That's how hard it is to get fired these days. Not that I'm proud of that part haha.

Yeah, I think that would warrant geting canned (not your bender, that is awesome). Even the absolute worst A&As don't get canned, i'm talking about the ones that are so bad they just don't get staffed or when they do, thet either don't do anything or people refuse to let them help because they have 0 reliablity, which is really the only skill/quality that junior banker must have, no exceptions.
