This thread is pretty funny..

but anyways, try looking up barrington associates. 95% of their guys are either ex-athletes or frat guys.

Barclays power isn't a good group anymore, all the senior MD's left for citi as well as their clients.

I would say hands down the frattiest group is the old Lehman Natty Res office in Houston, now under Barclays. Lot of UT kids, a ton of fun, and the best (upstream) natty res group on the street.

based on the guys they took from my class at Penn (they took 4-5 guys from the same frat) - they still have a lot of the drexel culture lingering....there are some great stories about richie handler out there

dont worry wherever you go i am sure you will find a couple of good looking frat studs. seriously this is the gayest thread in WSO history. not that there is anything wrong with that. And BTW all the banks are basically the same regardless of what u read...u will find frat guys, lanky asians, etc. everywhere. Certain groups take on the personality of the guys/gals running them, but you arent ging to be able to figure that out until you get there and even then prob not until after u start working with them.

my desk was basically Entourage.

All BB banks are fratty: they're filled with laxers who were either in their school's athlete frat, or schools lacking frats at which sports teams are the equivalent.

Honestly tho, I hope u haven't posted anything identifying about yourself.

I would be happy to try to answer this question for you, OP, but I have no idea what you mean when you say "fratty." That can mean a lot of different things.

Do you mean which banks have office case races? Hopefully none. Do you mean which banks have a culture of hazing, or branding their logo onto analysts' arms?

I've heard San Francisco tech geeks use "fratty" as a pejorative to describe smart, educated guys who work in anything other than tech. The connotation really depends on your background and experiences.

Do you mean fratty like Sigma Chi @ USC in 2014 or like Theos @ UPenn in 2004..etc. Can't help you without a working definition.

Whatever your definition, no banks are particularly frat-like. They're politically correct, full of women and geeks, and much lighter on lacrosse players (as a %) than they were in 2006.

I'd argue that S&T is probably more "fratty" since there is more personal interaction, and stuff going on day to day, taking clients out etc. That's my impression from my network of friends/contacts, compared to IBD.

I used to do Asia-Pacific PE (kind of like FoF). Now I do something else but happy to try and answer questions on that stuff.

who is the least fratty/most reserved/nerdiest?

actually fuck it, who gets picked on the most?

Remember, once you're inside you're on your own. Oh, you mean I can't count on you? No. Good!

There are plenty of people who play golf and smoke cigars who aren't/weren't in a frat. The whole concept of being 'fratty' is a joke. The kids at shitty schools like Alabama think that pastel colors, boat shoes, etc. = 'dressing fratty.'

That is incorrect; the look that they call 'fratty' is really the new england prep look, and they try to mimic that image so that they are associated with a higher class than their own.

Wow, I think someone has some built up animosity. I wouldn't go that far and lump us all into the same category. While there are some that think they are better than others just because they are in a fraternity its not the case for everyone. Seeing that you proposed a stereotype I'll go ahead and do you. You are a possible combination of three things: 1)A kid with little to zero social skills that on bid day didn't get one and therefore hated on fraternities for the rest of college 2)Spent college pissed off that they got all the hot girls while you beat off, said all they did was blow down lines, and of course pay for their friends. 3)Are a fucking GDI(actually, we already know this.

Don't preach about class, anyone who does doesn't have any.

If you mean places like Thomas Weisel Brokers then yes. Heard you guys are mandated on a couple M&A deals, one being the Mcdonald's in Jersey the other a 7-11 in El Paso.

Too bad Coldwell Banker didn't value them right or you would have had a great lucite like the co-managed $12 million IPO offering.

BB.MandA.3rdyearI just chose it at random, I coulda used SG Cowen, Piper or whoever else in lower middle market. I just think they're funny because the analysts there think they roll.

ok to clarify i am only looking at bulge brackets. if anyone knows which the frattiest one is let me know. i don't want to waste my time interviewing with a bunch of guidos and coloreds.

i agree, the pjc and cowen kids are obnoxious at times. i learned what "ghost riding" is from one of them. ohhh... another place where the associates/analysts think they roll is jmp securities. now talk about drunks.

BB.MandA.3rdyeardouchey. I was in a frat and i don't care if people are fratty. If they are cool, work hard, like to drink and have fun who cares?

what if they don't like to drink and have fun though? what if they have no fratty stories to share about their college years and only a bunch of stories about burying themselves in the library. not frat.

Please don't come to London. You are the type of American that I try not to be associated with while I'm over here.

There is no "fratty" culture in Britain. Drinking is a national pasttime. Also the real blue-blooded posh guys don't usually go into banking. And yes, as relinquo mentioned, there is European-wide recruiting for London and there are lots of "foreigners" in the offices. At UBS off the top of my head I know an African-American, two Nigerians, an Arab, and a German (those are the only people I know!) LSE is an extremely multiethnic university and it places a lot of graduates in banking in London as well.

Basically, you should be looking at banking jobs in Chicago if you don't want diversity. You'll never make it in London, which is in my opinion more diverse than New York.

Oh, and patekphillipe, you'll be in for a surprise in London. The beer that you consider the shit in your frats (Bud Light, Miller Lite, Coors Lite) is considered piss there. Well, maybe because it does taste like it...

Uh, my frat brothers drink Natty and Pabst, Bud and Miller are reserved for the sorostitutes.

used the search function....second option.

There's a closer meaning to my user name. Try reading it quickly. Perhaps you will then understand ;P

I'm more interested in which IBs have the fattest guys. The fattest banker fat cats, if you will.

Can we get a ranking by mean and median BMI?

Those who can, do. Those who can't, post threads about how to do it on WSO.

Living in NYC, one of the most liberal cities in America, is NF so any NY IBD Job is NF.

However, Texas is FAF so I guess any bank with a big Equities in Dallas group would be the most Frat.
