Who else sketches / draws out pages before creating them in PPT or have MDs / VPs / Directors that do so before having to create the PPT (Poll)?
Hey guys - I was wondering if others sketch / draw out pages before actually creating them in PPT? I feel like it helps me a ton and gets my creative juices going / makes the whole process easier but was curious to hear anyone else's thoughts. I know there are MD's / VPs / Associates that do this and it seems to make a huge difference (it definitely helps me) but again, just wanted to hear your thoughts as I'm also looking to get better at PPT and share tips. Thanks!
Based on the most helpful WSO content, sketching or drawing out pages before creating them in PowerPoint is a common practice among many professionals in the industry. Here are some insights:
VPs and MDs: It's noted that some VPs and MDs prefer to sketch out design changes and content before creating the actual slides. This method helps in catching mistakes and visualizing the final product more effectively.
> "Prior to WFH, I thought everyone did this. Much easier to catch mistakes if it's printed, and easier to sketch out design changes." (MD, Director, VP - FAILS | Wall Street Oasis)
Associates: Associates also engage in this practice, often spending time with analysts to go over the sketches and provide detailed directions for the slides.
> "The VP sketches out a few directions for the slides and walks out the door. The associate spends 10 minutes with you going over it in greater detail..." (David and Goliath: The Boutique and The Bulge Bracket | Wall Street Oasis)
Efficiency and Creativity: Sketching can significantly enhance creativity and streamline the process of creating presentations. It allows for a clearer vision and can make the entire process more efficient.
