Advice for a Career Switch in Finance

I graduated college 4 years ago with a degree in business: management/ marketing. I’ve had several short term opportunities leading to my longest tenure at a higher education company (19 months), which laid off 30 percent of its staff due to the adverse impact of COVID-19. It’s safe to say that my experience working in marketing has not been too pleasing, and I would like to use this opportunity to make a career shift for something much more sustainable and substantial. I plan on going back to school to earn my MBA, but I’d like to be in an environment where I can get exposed to Investment strategies and pretty much learn the industry. I know it’s going to take a lot of work and I’m ready for it.

What’s the best entry-point for a person with a marketing background to break in finance?

Taking some time to weigh up your financial options is important. And so is actually making your shift happen. By all means, set yourself a date by which you'll decide which approach you're going to take.
