Career Advice for a Recent Graduate

Hello guys,

I have decided to write this because I am a little bit desperate. To put you in context, I graduated in Economics and Business at a non-target uni back in July 2024, being the best in my cohort with a GPA of 9.22/10 (living in pain adding an S at the beginning). I was going to start an internship at a search fund but I ended up with no offer because they needed an internship agreement with the university and I couldn't do it because I had already finished.

Therefore, I was with no job and no degree to study. I have been applying to a lot of IB internships since way before finishing the double degree and I have only done two interview rounds with MS and two rounds with two boutiques, all of them resulting in rejection.

I know that part of this is my fault because I haven't done any internships related to corporate finance because I didn't have the necessary knowledge (e.g. how to write a cover letter, when to apply, how to prepare for interviews, and even just to know that I had to do as many internships as possible while studying). But, I still feel bad becaused I worked my ass off in order to have the best curriculum and develop a solid career in finance.

In an attempt to gain more signalling, I started the CFA Level I (May 2025 Exam Date) while still applying for every entry-level position. The worst part is that it has been 6 months since I have finished my bachelor studies and I haven't found a job yet.

I feel like the time is coming to an end and that I have to do something. I am considering taking a master's in finance to have access to more job opportunities, gain more signalling, and be more prepared for interviews.  I have also thought about applying for corporate banking roles and other areas to increase my chances of getting a job and then move to IB. Anyway, I would really appreciate your opinions and your advice.

Thank you!!

TL;DR
I finished my bachelor degree as the best student in my cohort and I am having difficulties in finding a job in investment banking. It has been six months since I have finished my bachelor's degree and I haven't found anything despite having applied for many positions. Currently a CFA Level I Candidate for the May 2025 exam, I am seeking for advice regarding what to do now (continue applying for internships, do a master's, etc).
