small private college in philadelphia. decent reputation regionally, but nothing great.
want to transition into fp&a/corporate finance.
29 but don't mind taking on a more junior level role.

my 2 cents... If you haven't already, You need to network .. look for the gazillions of posts on this forum for the how-tos..
Middle office (aka back office) covers many areas. Exit ops to front office are very different for someone in say, Market Risk, compared to someone in Compliance or Ops Risk.
So give us something to work with. What's your current role and what front office businesses do you work with?
I've seen a few people move out of Credit Risk into front office trading and investment banking roles. In each case, the Credit person was working closely with the front office teams and played a role where he/she added value in getting the deal executed, rather than being a box ticking gatekeeper
Also, the people who make the move are typically experienced but still young, not yet at VP/SVP level. In investment banking, at least, that reflects the skill set you need to have around SVP level ie it's more about bringing in clients and deals than it is about execution. Experiences may differ outside of investment banking.
thanks all. the thing is i want out of banking/securities industry. looking to get into corporate finance. working on networking now!!
corporate finance, if you mean working in FP&A, treasury, etc. at f500 companies is pretty much middle/back office.
This actually makes some sense because the finance department (which is MO) essentially does fp&a for the bank if that’s the Corp fin referred here
