Jpm networking
Ok, I know there’s a ton of posts but I’m just confused. I’ve been emailing Jpm people for networking calls and idk if it’s cause it’s the summer and IB networking is basically over or I’m blacklisted from sending too many emails, but no one’s responding to my emails… What am I doing wrong?

What grade are you in? Recruiting for SA 2025 is essentially done besides a few one-off spots that may pop up from reneges.
Thought they got rid of networking
JPM doesn’t have a referral system, networking doesn’t matter there, purely based on whether HR pushes you based on resume/hirevue
How do you differentiate? Just work exp and high gpa?
Yes, they also care A LOT about school, probably more than any other bank, basically everyone is from target schools.
Shouldn’t you still attempt to network though since it could help with assessing fit/framing your why IB during the HireVue or potential interviews?
Should probably still try to get one or two people on the phone to get a better feel for the firm (ur why JPM), but it won’t help in landing an interview
You could totally be right, however, I will say that I got a superday for SA 2025 with them with one mediocre internship, non diverse and non target, but i got referred by a group head MD and I honestly think that’s why I got pushed through

Anyone saying that networking does not help push your resume along is misinformed

Nearly everything in this thread is wrong. 1. they don’t care that much about school i know tons of kids from mediocre schools and almost all the kids at my HYP target getting those superdays are connected to the firm via family. 2. networking absolutely does matter, but it only matters if the referral comes from someone above the MD level (similar to my experience recruiting at most BBs as a nondiverse but ymmv). Also if the group’s RM requests you get a superday you usually get the SD. So yeah, network.
