You can renew on the CME offer (assuming it’s at-will, which almost all internships are). The better question is whether you should. CME is a big organization, and there’s a chance that whoever you’re screwing (the hiring manager, Human Resources, etc.) over by reneging might end up working at some place that you want to work and that they’ll remember you. Furthermore, there’s always the chance that you’ll want to work at CME later (albeit in a different division), and you’re burning that bridge by reneging on their offer like this. Even if this weren’t true, it’s still considered unethical.
So in one line: because CME is such a big employer, and one that you may want to work at later, I’d say that reneging is a bad idea.

Wow, dude. Call CME, thank them for the offer, but that you have found another position (do this after accepting and signing the RJ offer). The RJ offer pays more and has you doing something market related--depending on what exactly the position is it is either FO or at the very least MO and can be spun as a good learning experience. The CME offer while a better name is BO and no where near the same experience.

Thank you so much for the advice. I'm sorry to be a bother, but I want as much feedback as possible. Anybody else have an idea about what I should do? I also really am tempted to do the RJ offer for financial reasons. It is not much, but it would really help me and my family out. Before I posted this I felt like I needed to accept my fate and work at CME Group, but now after 2 posters said that the RJ opportunity is actually better I am torn. If I turn down the Clearing House offer I intend to do so before the start of business hours tomorrow, so ANY HELP from now until then would be a lifesaver. If it helps, I would be working under the head of forex at RJ.

RJO offer - seems to be front office CME offer - seems to be back office
I would take the RJO offer without a doubt in this scenario. Also, RJO isn't exactly a small company..
Thanks for the help guys!

Anyone else?
Ok, understood. I do not want to reneg and I don't think I will, but I am curious as to what the better decision would be out of the 2.
