Put it this way. The VAST majority of women end up getting into serious relationships with men who are at the very least at their level educationally and professionally. You may be that rare anomaly who is totally ok dating a guy working a menial job, but most likely you're full of shit (hence why i gave you shit rather than a banana).
I grew up with people naming dropping all the time, I'm sick of that stuff. It doesn't mean anything to me. Some women grew up with money and are used to it. Just a note to the OP. Stuff like degrees, prestigious jobs, etc. are only useful in getting a girl to think marrying you is a good idea (and those are ironically the ones you don't want to marry). There's literally 0 value in using it in dating otherwise. If a girl wants to screw a guy, she's not checking his transcripts and running a background check, she's looking for strong core muscles and a sense of confidence so she knows he'll get her off. If you don't pass that screen, you can't get to that "x years in the future" scenario where she'll go "he went to Harvard, this is a good idea."

Most girls are biologically programmed to be emotionally attracted to high status. If you did go to Harvard, that could be perceived as high status or it could be perceived as nerdy/dorky, depends on your demeanor as well as her perspective and prior experiences. Depends on the girl and depends on the guy.

Prestige and status are contextual of course, so different girls will value different things. A hot sorority chick at a big state school will covet the athlete or the bro at a prestigious frat. The girl in NYC/SF who went to a top b-school and works for a big name firm will be more impressed by the guy with the great pedigree, job, and money, provided that he is reasonably attractive and socially decent. Ultimately it just depends on the people involved.

On its own being fat is not high status, indicates poor genes and low fitness. On the other hand, the construction workers are probably tall and muscular, which indicates some good genes and high fitness, thus adding to their status level, as ridiculous as that may sound. Lots of variables at play, have to look at the whole picture.
