Has the prestige of ur degree(s) helped you dominate socially?

Say you went to HYP---->HBS and there is a state U dude talking to a girl or puffing his chest talking about travel, wine, etc.

Have you ever dropped the H bomb and shut him up? There was this guy talking to this girl I like and he went to a shitschool. I wanted to make it clear to the chick that this guy is shit and that I graduated from HYP. I sat there like an idiot with my mouth closed. How do I bring it up?

dude, there's enough girls to go around. The supply and demand for females is close to equilibrium, so no need to cockblock unless its revenge.

If you think you are better because you went to HBS, you are a tool. If you can't muster up the balls to talk to a girl, you are also a fuckin' nerd. Since you are supposedly superior to this state school "peon", put those master race traits to work and steal the girl. Otherwise, keep your mouth shut and and stair at that diploma on your wall. Just remember what Gladwell said, top 20% are of the same caliber, no matter the alma mater.

I have found that most people who go to Ives these days are at least somewhat socially retarded.

This seems to confirm that.

Besides girls are attracted to confidence, which the OP seems to lack by the bucket.

The OP is a troll. Don't even pay attention to what he says.

Ivy undergrad kids tend to be more socially awkward, but the story is very different at top b-schools.

"Hi guys. My name is Stu. I'm sensitive and shy. I went to a target school (think harvard/wharton and only harvard/wharton). I really have hopes of working for an elite botique one day or a bulge bracket (think Moelis/Goldman... and maybe Evercore but even Evercore is a stretch LOL), but I'm just so shy.

I'm still so shy even after the interviews (think stuttering/peeing pants). I looked down when the interviewer asked me a hard question or made a nasty remark :(

But there are all these guys from non-targets who interview so well (think talking normally/shaking hands)! OMG they are losers from non-targets and not even considered people!!! Like my mom and dad say I'm the best and convinced me that (think elitist/undrealistic). But I'm still shy so I wont say anything.

Like what do I do here? How can I make people feel more inferior so I don't feel like a clammie vag :("

Hope you do well out there Stu.

I would rather date a guy that has confidence and dropped out of community college to mix concrete for a living than a d-bag from a target school that name drops all the time. Seriously no one cares in the real world. Grow up.

Funny that you say this. I know someone who did exactly that. F500 analyst marrying some dude who mixes concrete and carries rebar for a living. The dating market isn't really titled in favor of the "models and bottles" crowd, once you actually leave that crowd.

No. You got a poo because no one believes you.

Put it this way. The VAST majority of women end up getting into serious relationships with men who are at the very least at their level educationally and professionally. You may be that rare anomaly who is totally ok dating a guy working a menial job, but most likely you're full of shit (hence why i gave you shit rather than a banana).

I grew up with people naming dropping all the time, I'm sick of that stuff. It doesn't mean anything to me. Some women grew up with money and are used to it. All of the guys I've dated in the past came from typical American blue collar families. I would love to date a firefighter. Saving people's lives :)

The only VAST thing in this discussion is how much you seem to overestimate the added social/dating value of education and career lol

Just a note to the OP. Stuff like degrees, prestigious jobs, etc. are only useful in getting a girl to think marrying you is a good idea (and those are ironically the ones you don't want to marry). There's literally 0 value in using it in dating otherwise. If a girl wants to screw a guy, she's not checking his transcripts and running a background check, she's looking for strong core muscles and a sense of confidence so she knows he'll get her off. If you don't pass that screen, you can't get to that "x years in the future" scenario where she'll go "he went to Harvard, this is a good idea."

For casual dating and fucking, yes you're right. I guess that's what the OP is talking about. My earlier point was regarding long-term relationships.

Most girls are biologically programmed to be emotionally attracted to high status. If you did go to Harvard, that could be perceived as high status or it could be perceived as nerdy/dorky, depends on your demeanor as well as her perspective and prior experiences. Depends on the girl and depends on the guy.

GC, you actually made a valid point.

Prestige and status are contextual of course, so different girls will value different things. A hot sorority chick at a big state school will covet the athlete or the bro at a prestigious frat. The girl in NYC/SF who went to a top b-school and works for a big name firm will be more impressed by the guy with the great pedigree, job, and money, provided that he is reasonably attractive and socially decent. Ultimately it just depends on the people involved.

I like to drop that I went to ASU. Then all she thinks about me is me sniffing coke off her tits

inb4 the guy at the bar is one of the multiple billionaires who never stepped foot in an ivy league school and he buys OP's house then takes a huge 'prestigious' shit in it.

Are you saying that if you're a fat bastard, your girl will think twice about getting trained by 17 of the aforementioned construction workers, all because you both have HBS diplomas?

I mean hey, don't get me wrong. Career is part of the package. I just think that overestimating its usefulness as a dating tool is... risky lol. Guess I've said enough.

On its own being fat is not high status, indicates poor genes and low fitness. On the other hand, the construction workers are probably tall and muscular, which indicates some good genes and high fitness, thus adding to their status level, as ridiculous as that may sound. Lots of variables at play, have to look at the whole picture.

Status ~ confidence + looks + money + job + education + power + intelligence + sense of humor + social network
