(BTW, I love the sensitivity Business Week shows with the headline, "Lehman Castoffs Sleep on Sidewalk, Seek Redemption from Trump")
I've only ever watched the first season of The Apprentice but, if the format hasn't changed, it's basically a show about entrepreneurial ability. So I'm wondering why former bankers think they'd make good candidates. I seem to remember contestants having to run the most successful hot dog stand for a day (or something like that), not populate Excel spreadsheets for 20 hours at a time.
Trump is such an egomaniac, though, that I could easily see him bringing a couple bankers on just to publicly humiliate them for ratings. There's no doubt the audience would eat that up right now.
“We’re primarily focusing on people that have been affected by the recession,” said casting director Scott Salyers in an interview. “Not necessarily out of work, but maybe they’re stuck in a job they think they’re better than, or they’re not getting the promotion they were promised.”
Stuck in a job they think they're better than? Describes just about every analyst I've ever known. I might have to tune in for this season...

I can't stand Trump. I much prefer the UK version with Sir Alan. At least he tells it straight.
The great thing about Trump is his ability to sell himself for more than is worth (he basically inherited some valuable assets and made some good as well as some bad calls, like any manager).
The great thing about the aprentice is that it gives you an opportunity to "walk an hour" in some entrepreneur shoes, but without risking any money...
