Something that will give people the power to share and make the world more open and connected. The finished product will allow people all over the world to stay connected with friends and family, to discover what’s going on in the world, and to share and express what matters to them.

A company that serves as mobile payments processor/merchant services provider. Imagine being able to accept credit or debit cards offline, through some sort of hardware that attaches itself to the audiojack of an iPhone/Android phone! It would make payment processing easier for any sort of mobile business, like food trucks.

The idea is the easy part - execution and moxie separates the dreamers from the doers.

A product that you can cover your head and help you think. I'm thinking it should be called a "thinking cap".

You need to talk to anyone and everyone about your idea. Get some supporters who are legitimately interested in the outcome. Gather data to show whether or not an improvement is desired - you need more than just anecdotal evidence if you want to raise money. You'd also need a strong team of people interested in entrepreneurship and the idea.

Be as open as possible, especially in the early stages. Your idea has no value unless you have an ability to execute on it. Start working on a business plan and continuously update it. Having sample code or mockups significantly improve the quality of your business plan.

Good luck. Start ups are extremely difficult, especially if you're not connected with the entrepreneurial types. Those people are constantly bouncing ideas off each other, and no one is really the sole owner of an idea unless he or she can do everything alone. You'll find that the intelligent people are the busiest, often working on multiple projects.

Coding software is the easy part, it's the execution of the business plan that is tough. First of course, you need a business plan, which I don't think you do. Key questions you want in your business plan (nothing new here): -idea -comp advantage -market assessment -execution strategy -financial model

-software is definitely hard to break into, if it's not an off the shelf software product (like MS Office), then you will need to have the software implemented, migrated, have user acceptance and training, etc.

To get yourself started, I'd say do the following: -short business plan based on the abvoe -more market research to solidify the idea -network with angel investors/tech entrepeneurs (tons of social programs TiE, etc) -startup capital will come form: you, friends/famiily, angel investors (will low value your company)

-remember software is tough, you have no patent protection pretty much so anyone can copy your idea and with better execution run you over..but being an entrepeneur is not about the payout it's about the experience

good luck!

Create an app that lets you take a picture and send it out to the world on-the-line. This app should let you have filters to make pictures look retro. Then call this app pic-toe-gram.

Why not a lucid dreaming app that allows me to dream about being Gekko or Bateman while being married to a Playmate.

so unobtainable for you that it should be considered your dream's dream

Life's great! Scratch the old dream; I just had a dream that is about 15X happier. I propose a device that can recreate old dreams. Got that, "passionforinvestment bank".

Agreed. Blumie had a genius idea with this company. SMS --> Tex-Mex cuisine is the next big thing. Act fast before Elon Musk enters the fray.

I have an idea that makes keeping track of weight loss relatively easy. But we need some partnerships with some pretty big companies to make this happen.

Your office chair, via bluetooth connection, tells you how fat you're getting in real time as you waste away in your cubicle, scarfing down seamless and getting exercise only your walk to and from the can?

I was thinking about creating a credit card company (which I think OP would agree should be pretty easy) targeted at children and teens within the top 1%. It would be called "Monopoly Money" and there would be card designs available for each Monopoly denomination (with the white $1 being for newcomers to plastic, and the orange $500 being for experienced 16-18 year-olds who can handle a higher limit, for instance). Aside from just being innovative in general, it would also be set apart from existing (boring) credit card companies because users would occasionally get "Chance" and "Community Chest" notifications after transactions. For instance, "Lucky you! Enjoy double points for the next month" or "Uh oh! You'll be charged double for that transaction."
