“We can say ‘retard’ and ‘pussy’ without the fear of getting cancelled . . . it’s a new dawn.”
Wild quote in today's Financial Times article about corporate America and Wall Street going MAGA : https://www.ft.com/content/cf876b19-8c69-498b-95f5-d018618d99ec

Vote JD Vance in 2028 if you want the right to say the n-word in the workplace again.
MAGA 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Baron Trump 2056
With 0 Black MDs according to another post, UBS New York is ahead of the game
I mean, he’s married to an Indian woman and has bi-racial children with her; also ran on a ticket that built the most diverse coalition in GOP history. Not seeing the humor here.
“says top banker”
I’m guessing this is a self appointed title
Big day for America if it means I can call my interviewees the names I’m thinking when they’re pitching me their absolute drivel they picked up on the sell side
we are so back
This has got to be someone from Moelis. Or Jefferies.
I can only imagine the number of morons that are going to get fired thinking the coast is clear
If they get fired, that just means more openings for me 😎
I will finally be able to call people on WSO retards without getting my posts deleted
One can only hope
Okay retard ;)
Stfu pussy
Zoomers in absolute shambles.
I think Zoomers are surprisingly non-woke. It's the millennial liberal hegemony that's ending.
Lmaoooo
I’ll be honest, it’s cringey as fuck the number of people who are using retard again because they think they are standing up for some anti-woke agenda and fighting for some macho principles.
I personally don’t care if people say retard, but it just is cringey they are doing it thinking they are hard-ass chads for saying some word
MAGA Gen Z blowhards are a weird bunch. Right-center Republican here and I hate how people subject any Republican voter to be a fan of MAGA. I think it's dumb.
Winning for a change sucks so much. We should go back to being dignified losers like Romney. Then at least we can stand on principles while our political enemies entrench policy.
I’ll just further add I have a buddy, who I like a lot, but has spent way too much time on the internet since he’s single in his 30s.
He has been saying retard as much as he can since the Trump election. He does it clearly expecting us to react like we think it’s edgy or badass that he says it without caring.
Cringey as shit. Love the guy but he’s a retard
Yeah, agreed.
Because it is retarded not to acknowledge that being mentally disabled isn't a good thing – if you choose to be offended or feel entitled to not being discriminated against, go become God in your fantasies & create your own world where silliness is glorified, instead of cancelling sane people in the real world!
I never stopped using it and me using it now is not a reflection of Trump being elected, retard nation gang gang
What a retarded take
I would love to see that top banker say those types of words with their bosses and customers. A before and after view would be interesting.
This guy sounds like a huge pussy. You've always been able to say retard.
But I'm happy this guy is happy. He seems like he really enjoys retard pussy.
People in this thread are trying to pander to some moderate line of thinking by dismissing this article by focusing on this obviously meme like quote (ft probably took the worst quote than some other more thoughtful viewpoint). Anyone who's been in the corporate world 10+ years though has clearly seen the significant neutering of culture. That's the main problem and what people are hoping will somewhat reverse. Let's see
Good luck getting past HR bloat that has been emboldened by 16 years of radical progressivism. These cultural shifts take decades to reverse.
I mean, I guess it's nice when everyone starts saying the quiet part out loud? Not that it's a surprise, but good to know that most conservatives don't really give a shit about policy, they just want to be able to call the black shoe shine boy the N word without fear of repercussions...
Completely untrue. Many people I know voted for Trump because of concern over genuine bigotry (i.e. antisemitism, which I have personally experienced). I can’t stand bigots, and would never associate with them, regardless of whom they vote for or what they look like. Personally know many Black, Asian, and Hispanic people of both genders who voted for Trump, all highly educated (and from the NYC area) I might add. As an aside, “black shoe-shine boy,” really? When was the last time you saw an actual shoe-shine boy of any race anywhere? It’s not 1950.
I mean, Mr Trump himself is a noted bigot and has been for some time. Anyone celebrating his return to the White House as a victory for "anti-woke" people is inherently celebrating a bigot. I don't know if you fall in that category, but as you are semi-defending people who do, I'm gonna make an assumption here and lump you in. New Yorkers have known Mr Trump's true colors on this front since he spent his own money to whip up a frenzy to convict the (innocent) Central Park Five. The last decade or so of out and out hate speech he's been spewing, the refusal to condemn white supremacists, the many, many bigoted or prejudiced comments about Hispanics or Jews or whoever, all of that is part of a decades long pattern.
So yeah, the only reason to vote for Mr Trump when it comes to "concern" over bigotry is the fact that bigotry is being turned against you, not because you dislike bigotry. As a fellow Jew, I find it pretty gross that your concern on this matter extends to cover yourself, and everyone else can get fucked. I'd rather vote for someone who says all bigotry is bad, even if there is a low level of it across the board, than someone who condemns one specific type of prejudice and takes action against it while actively stoking the fires of resentment against every other ethnic or religious minority. Anti-semitism is the oldest, most profound, and most widespread form of bigotry in the world, and we'll only make it harder for ourselves if our essential position is "protect us, screw over everyone else"
Yes, that's the point, thank you for spelling it out. People want a return to 1950, socially, culturally, economically.
And a black, asian, or Hispanic person who voted for Trump is also knowingly associating with a bigot. I'm sure they have reasons that seem good to them (generally speaking it seems to be "I want more money and other people to have less of 'my' money"), but that doesn't make it any less true. American ethnic minorities can be just as, if not more, bigoted than white Americans
lol concerned about bigotry so they voted for Trump. I needed that laugh.
Voting for Trump because you believe he will be better on foreign policy and pass more favorable economic reforms is a legitimate position.
But to suggest a man with his history exemplifies anti-bigotry is funny.
In reality, that is the kind of emotionally immature senior no junior wants to actually work under
Rejoice boys. Rejoice. MAGA baby
most retarded quotation I've read lately. I always used those words among trusted peers and teammates.
Just keep a more reserved language when dealing with those that are sensible, not because a regulation forces you, but because shows respect and emotional intelligence.
Because that's exactly the quote I would expect form a LMM banker from Dakota who started his IB firm after watching WoWS
Thw people who enjoy using terms retard and pussy are probably the same people who were beat up as kids. It is the revenge of the ugly and socially awkward dudes.
Finally men can be men and America can be America
