Sixth Street SA 2024
SA applications just opened a few weeks ago. Curious about the firm, interview process, and different groups. Is an offer worth taking over BB IB?

They get absolutely annihilated avoid it. Have a friend there who works harder than anyone I know at megafunds. Consistent 100 hour weeks are the usual. No weekends off and hard to take vacation
Can confirm this is true but you are young. Suck it up for a bit and dip.
Is this true for all groups? How are exits compared to megafunds.
What group are they in. I did a summer there and for SAs it wasn’t bad at all.
Not the non profit group
Hve the first rounds started yet , have not heard back
Also haven't heard back! Let's keep this thread updated
Bumping this thread, anyone receive any communication for SA24 interviews?
Bumping this thread!
Applied a few days ago, in the same boat, no communications yet, thought it was because I applied only recently, but looks like it's the case for everyone.
Anyone heard anything regarding first rounds?
not here. anyone know if networking is helpful/necessary?
I've reached out to alumni but no one has responded
Any updates?
still nothing? did anyone network or get info regarding timeline, # spots, etc.
Some first rounds are out
do you know which groups/location?
anyone got Strategic Capital first round?
When did you get? And did u network
I got it on Friday and its 2 back to back on Tuesday
I did a lot of networking but that was a year ago apparently, still kept in touch with most of the people there
Anyone heard back from direct lending 1st round?
has anyone heard from growth equity yet? or know when that process is running
Which funds is Sixth Street on par with?
If we're talking about their bread-and-butter opportunities strategy, there are only a handful of funds to perhaps consider above them in the space. Apollo Hybrid Value, Oaktree Opportunities, and Ares SOF are the three main ones for me that come to mind. Would likely take Sixth Street over KKR Special Situations, Blackstone Tac Opps, Carlyle Distressed and Special Situations, and Bain Credit/Special Sits for an associate role. However, besides Carlyle, these are all really within the top echelon of funds. Have heard good things about PIMCO Alt Credit too but can't speak to it personally.
Then we get into hedge funds which is a whole another thing to unravel.
Has anyone heard back for second round?
what group/location?
Direct lending NY
Has anyone heard back from their spd?
How long does it usually take for people to hear back after the superday?
sorry but what group?
DL
anyone heard back yet?
Bump
not really, did they respond to you, or give an update as to when to expect a response?
Which group?
I was invited to do a first round for their structured credit team late May but then I got an offer from BB so I dropped out of the race.
