Is LSE worth reapplying to from UCL? (non-finance degree)

Hi, I'm in Y1 and studying archaeology lol. How good is LSE in terms of employability for top banks and consulting firms? I know UCL is decent but the fact that I'm doing a strange degree makes me wonder maybe I should retake further maths and apply for the least competitive course at LSE for my best shot. But yeah I'd like to know if LSE is worth taking the risk. Btw I did maths further maths econ for my A-levels. Looking forward to your input. Thanks.

broski i have seen you under every wso post for the past two weeks

unfortunately with your grades you won't get into anything at LSE

potentially in logic and scientific method or some shit course like that but even for them i would imagine competition is hard. the people in that course are also spoonfed finance hardos

lol sorry for the spam I've been worrying non-stop recently. Well I mean that's why I was thinking of retaking further maths. and I've seen high offer rates for a few LSE courses so...idk

what are your grades

i didn't do a levels but you would need to get minimum an A* in maths to be competitive. other subjects i don't know but probably at least As

Assumming that you are not doomed by DEI/Non EEA lang speaker etc etc it wont matter that much unless you are dead set on IBD / S&T. Even IBD doesnt rlly give a shit about your subject matter given that you can answer technicals and able to justify why you chose that degree and why finance. Basically you have to spin your weird ass degree into your niche differentiator.

There are people from UCL education studies / Pure Language / Sociology and Politics of the Americas / insert any other irrelevant degrees breaking into IBD/S&T. So I would advise you to figure out a way to somehow violate all those DEI/Socmob pipelines to maximize your chance of getting a spring week rather than researching what kinds of mickey mouse degrees you can sneak into LSE.

Cuz my friends in LSE econs/finance/math&econs etc are all struggling since without having access to those 'schemes' they cant land any first round interviews either LOL. And firms are giving out offers to girls studying music/anthroplogy in queen mary/kcl/Royal Holloway who dont know what DCF is(albeit they get much easier qns). Shit is so random and Hard even from LSE unless you can somehow convince/fool HRs that you fit into that 'scheme'

Gap year is only justifiable when you can get Oxbridge. Havent seen anyone taking a gap year to go to LSE/Imperial from UCL tbh.
