Can USA students apply for these positions overseas? Do you have to speak the native language?
I don’t think being able to speak the language is necessary, but it’ll be a plus if you could.
there was a question in MS hirevue that required to be answered in either mandarin or Korean...
It is necessary. Your phone interview will almost always include a question in Chinese

Does anyone know if APAC regions are strict on the penultimate rule? I am an incoming masters student but I was wondering if banks are willing to take on final year/1-year master students on to their SA programme.
it seems like MS and Citi takes master students onto their SA program (IBD)

I don't think banks in HK takes international students for sophomore programs. I found some programs last year but wasn't eligible to apply.
Yea there’s no sophomore programs in Asia, but if you r a girl or minority there r programs in the us for sophomores.

Wondering how hard it would be to get a work visa. I was born in China but grew up in Canada with Canadian citizenship. Currently going to a US strong semi-target.
A mentee of mine just did his Hirevue for MS SG. Bank said that the results would be out by the end of the month. Was surprised to hear that the Hirevue is significantly more difficult than previous iterations, and that there will be no phone interviews. Hirevue straight to Superday apparently
Checked my application status for JPM and it changed to “application reviewed”. But no hirevue yet tho, anyone else in the same situation?
It's sent in batches I think, but you'd better check if there is anything wrong with graduation date or GPA.
GPA is fine, grad date is 2 months earlier (June '19) than what they stated (Sept '19 - July '20) so i hope that doesn't affect my app too much. any idea?

Does Singapore take people who don't speak mandarin? I assume HK requires all junior hires to speak the language.
Not every bank I think. But JPM says fluency in Mandarin in the job post.

Moelis HK takes interns but the application closed mid-August. The first round was late August and second round early September. They should have finished their recruiting process by now.

Hey guys! I applied for JP Summer 2020 analyst Hongkong/Singapore. Received a Hirevue right away and just got a call from HK to interview on Sunday (Monday in HK). This is my first IB interview so please lmk if anyone has prior experiences! Btw I am not from a top Ivy/finance major

Why would JPM open superday for HK in LA?
The HK team does a tour around major cities including NY, Chicago, SF and LA every year during this time for super days.

I doubt there will be another wave because the HK team specifically traveled to the U.S. for the super days.
