Joe Biden - "The US could survive without Wall Street"

https://joebiden.com/empowerworkers/

Joe Biden knows that our country was built by hard-working Americans. While we could survive without Wall Street and investment banks, our entire economy would collapse without electricians to keep our lights on, auto workers on the line building our cars, drivers who deliver all things we need for our daily lives to our markets, firefighters, ambulance drivers, service workers, educators, and millions more.

Looks like the "left of center Dem" is no longer left of center. Honestly got some Warren vibes reading this.

Biden hasn't been center left for a LONG time. The plan was to make him seem center left to try and steal the moderate vote, but its either he shares the same beliefs as many of the Warrens, Harris, etc. or he is just the face and other politicians underneath him are driving the policies. Maybe even both. Either way kind of ridiculous statement - I get what he's trying to say in a sense, but obviously we play a very important role.

IMO let them say whatever they want, it just let's them prove how stupid/insincere they are. Just looking at it from their self-proclaimed POV is hilarious. They really think a group of "oppressed" child-mentality minorities and milk-toast liberals that can't even decide on their gender are going to combat the all-oppressing, privileged, gun-toting white majority that's backed by the police force and evil wealthy elites? Where can I sign up for ringside seats because this revolution will be over faster than Papa John's career.

He isn't gonna do anything. At the end of the day, Wall Street donations to candidates buys them over, and Biden is so deteriorated that he doesn't even know what day of the week it is. His campaign is just saying anything that will "stick" with their potential voters, and they wanna trick the Bernie bros into joining the fight.

Where I think socialism patently fails is that it doesn't have a strong emphasis on finance. How can you allocate resources amongst the intense competitive pressures across society without the mechanism that finance is inherently involved with managing? It's impossible. "The greatest need" is the biggest load of shit from the musings of a wandering rich hippy. It's funny that people actually take the ideas seriously, but we've already seen what gullible people are willing to follow. I'm still voting for Biden, but will probably vote republican down ballot. There's no need to believe anything ludicrous will be push forward.

How old are you?

Anyone above the age of 18 should know that criticizing Wall Street is a standard rhetoric for politicians since 2008.

Hilary did it in 2016 but was taking donations anyways. Trump criticized Wall Street for "getting away with murder" in 2016, look at what happened. Obama criticized Wall Street all the while he was receiving donations.

If all the Gen Z kids trying to break into finance are all this dumb, I'm seriously worried the financial system will get fucked.

"The hedge fund people make a lot of money and they pay very little tax," Trump said in an interview Wednesday with Bloomberg. "I want to lower taxes for the middle class."

"The middle class built this country, not the hedge fund guys," he said Wednesday.

"The hedge fund guys won't like me as much as they like me right now. I know them all, but they'll pay more," he said during a Republican debate sponsored by CNN in 2015. "I know people that are making a tremendous amount of money and paying virtually no tax, and I think it's unfair."

I don't see anything wrong with this quote? It is far different than "The US could survive without Wall Street and investment banks". That on top of Harris proposed trading tax is what really gets me.

When Street execs tell politicians to jump they ask how high. They all say the same stuff until they get some donations then go back to whatever it is they do.

One thing I find funny is the notion that Obama/Biden are pushing that Biden was the one who led the charge with economy after the recession. I know it’s just politics/talking points, but the idea of him trying to understand what MBS are is hilarious.

I'm not sure what that's supposed to mean, but I liked a lot of Jeb Bush's policies. It's a shame he had the charisma of a damp rag. I wish Biden was as close to the center as Bush

I’m a fun guy. Obviously I love the game of basketball. I mean there’s more questions you have to ask me in order for me to tell you about myself. I'm not just gonna give you a whole spill... I mean, I don't even know where you're sitting at

This just goes to show how full of shit politicians are, especially re: this “coalition” between progressive and establishment democrats.

High paying corporate sectors like Wall Street literally fund and control the vast majority of the Democratic Party. Finance in NY and CT, pharma in NJ, tech / media in California.

Democrats know this and will never do anything that limits their influence. *Never*. This is why Sanders was such a threat (also why he ran as an independent).

Hell Biden represented Delaware for decades, literally the legal headquarters of corporate America.
