Is it Possible to Get a SA at Oaktree?
Oaktree Capital Management is a Los Angeles-headquartered private equity and hedge fund behemoth with approximately $123 billion in assets under management. They have offices around the world, including in New York and London. The firm is known for high salaries and its notoriously difficult interview process.

On the possibility for an SA position or a FT position out of undergrad, here are some answers from the WSO community:
- From WSO user @CRE_Banker" : From discussions with connections at Oaktree LA they rarely take on undergrads as Summer Analysts and they don't hire undergrads FT.
- From WSO user @Solidarity" : I know a few people who have gotten Oaktree internships... I don't think they give out fulltime offers though but they've definitely taken interns for a DCM type role in NY. Not sure about LA.
- From Certified Hedge Fund Professional – 1st Year Analyst @Matrick" : I have seen long-term internship for students at the Oaktree London office
We know of at least one WSO user got an undergrad SA interview, so there are likely others too. Just don’t count on a full-time offer.

I have seen long-term internship for students at the Oaktree London office, but I never heard about any traditional PE internships in the US offices.
35 M € lost in French Investment beacause of a mystake of Oaktree Management ... In french newspaper we learn that Franck Laval Oaktree Capital Senior Vice President has forgot to claim 35 € of money invested in company who manage casinos in France . the time of the request has legally expired so the money is definetly lost for Oaktree Capital . This is what we call a serious mystake of the management team . 35 M € it' a large investment ....and big lost .

Has anyone had any experience interviewing for the Portfolio Analytics, Risk & Reporting (PARR) internship position with Oaktree Capital Management? If so, is it pretty much all behavioral, excel, accounting, modeling, and/or financial questions? Anything helps!
Also, if I do end up getting this gig, will this be better than a lower/mid MM, finance role at a large tech company, or PE at a smaller firm if I wanna end up doing investment banking?
