Hey MichaelBurry, sorry about the delay, but are any of these useful:
If those topics were completely useless, don't blame me, blame my programmers...
Interested as well.
bump
For me it was a first round hirevue, then video interview, then wonderlic, then ethics test, then IQ test, another video interview, then a background check, into a superday. My belief is the experienced hire program only has a few more rounds and a modeling test. I am sure the extra interviews are with the PM/Team you are trying to place with.
Do you know how many spots are there for SA vs FT?

bump - anyone have more info?

There is an information session taking place this week for the Experienced Associate Program, which will hopefully answer some questions.
Curious about the typical profile of someone who gets recruited through the program. If anyone has had the chance to go through it, I'd love to learn more.
Anyone attended the session just now? I missed it by one hour, damn! Mind sharing some notes or key take aways? Thanks!
Here's some notes I jotted down:
Are any of the seats based in SF? or are all of them in NYC?
Pretty sure you could transition to the SF office after the academy if one of the PMs over there wanted you. The whole training program will probably be WFH anyway, so you could likely do it from SF.
Anyone attended the session just now? I missed it by one hour, damn! Mind sharing some notes or key take aways? Thanks!
Attended the session just now. Not taken many notes but here are some info for interviews:
First round would be pre-recored Video interview, second and third round case assignment/interview, then final Superday.
Hope it helps a bit.
The recruiter seemed to imply that the recruitment process would be very quick. The second and third round are either a case assignment or an interview, depending on availability.
Most of what you would really want to know (class size, typical class profile, etc.), they didn't provide clear answers. If HF recruitment doesn't work out for them, politics might.
did they say how many move on, etc. just got a hirevue and idk what's on there. I applied just because I was curious. How is this program different than the usual analyst program? Sorry didn't get the time to attend the info sesh
Anyone has idea about what questions do they ask in hirevue interview ? I heard they have started rolling out hirevue interview request with submission till 11th Oct. Any help would be appreciated.

Interested what you find out...

Anybody else ??? at the second question?
What was your second question?
wdym?
I found it to be an atypical interview question is what I meant. Would be curious to hear how answered it after the deadline has passed
I really hated that experience haha....HireVue is not something I ever want to do again.
What were your questions?
Sell me this pen.
Agreed, thought my HireVue days would be over post Uni but it looks like they are here to stay
If you're interviewing, get used to it. Used to weed people out. Sucks ass but it's not going away.... Good luck!
Just did it.
Got :
1. Why do you want to be an L/S analyst?
2. How to improve a product (you get 10 min to prepare for a 3 min answer)
You are not helping yourself or people who don't troll WSO forums by sharing the question in advance. Wouldn't be fair for those who only had the few minutes to think of an answer.
I mean the first question is a standard behavioral question that anyone preparing for an interview should already have an answer too. People also answered this question when filling out their application on the P72 website.
The second one you can't exactly prepare for without knowing what product it is. I'd also hazard a guess that they had different products.
How long does it typically take to get invited to the next round? Believe the next round is a “graded case study” - Curious to find out what that is (1-hour pre-built modeling test or some longer case studies on legit companies). Thanks guys!
Following as well. I have no clue on the case study. I completed Hirevue last night and will keep posted once I hear back on any next steps
The hirevue email says you'll hear back within 2 weeks.
Thanks both. I am expecting the next round to come up sooner as there a four more rounds ahead, and the entire process will wrap up by end Nov.
Anyhow, will keep you guys posted if I hear back. Cheers
Anyone hear back from Hirevue?
Too soon for that imo... they are likely going through 100s of videos and 1 day seems to be a short time. Unless I am totally delusional about the number of candidates that are in the process currently. On that note...does anyone know a rough estimate of how many applied and how many got hirevue? I am guessing triple digit numbers for both
On the call last Thursday, HR mentioned at one point 1000+ were on it.
My guess is at least 4 digit applications.
Does anyone know what the graded case study is? Supposed to be the round following Hirevue (btw, haven't heard back yet).
Is it a Wonderlic test or some 3-statement models?
I've applied to the London role - has anyone heard back? I applied day after it opened but still no hirevue.
Applied day after the seminar; still nothing (but I assume that is expected)
Same here, let's keep our fingers crossed🤞
They said during the info session that they will be sending out the HireVue's in two different batches. Getting sent HireVue in the first batch does not mean you have an advantage over the second batch as offers are being sent out on a rolling basis.
Anyone get a rejection? Still haven't heard anything
Seems like as case studies went out already, those who didn't are going to get a rejection.
why would they not send rejections out the same time then? why wait i guess
Jw for those who got the case study, without naming specifics, was it within your sector/space of coverage or in a completely different one? Thx
Good luck to all who received the case study! Is there possibly a separate batch for candidates applying for Asia offices? Anyone applying to Asia offices also received the case study?
Can you share some insights on the Hirevue questions?
Not sure, but I just received the case study yesterday.
---
Anyone from London received the case study?
Do we have any updates on this?
How long does it take to receive the hirevue invitation after application?
Any other insights into the HireVue? Thanks a lot!!
Just FYI to everyone: got my formal rejection just now thru email.
Sorry to hear that. When did you apply and what location?
Received a formal rejection just now after completing HireVue.
Did it take you about 5 mins to finish the VI?
Question 1: Why Point72? - 1 minute to answer
Question 2: How would you improve a product? (they give you a random product) - 10 minutes to prepare, 3 minutes to answer
Anyone else in London get the experienced academy video interview? Seems like the questions are different to what’s been posted on here?
Just received the HireVue yesterday. Haven’t done one in the past. Once you open the HireVue, do you have to finish it or can you check the questions and then go back?
You have to finish it once you start (you can’t go back) good luck!
how long does it take you to receive the Hirevue after submitting the application?
Was a fucking car crash. Ridiculous time limit
Doing mine tomorrow - really annoyed with being graded by AI algorithm. I also have an accent and I hope this does not hurt me given it is graded by a PC.
Yeah I felt the same, I’ll PM you
Yeah I found it quite hard as well :(
Good luck to everyone guys!
Rejected after HireVue haha. So annoying! Went to final rounds in mega-funds but cannot get past first stage video interview!
Just received a hirevue (US). Any have any guidance on the new one? Is it a brain teaser or stock pitch?
So far they've had different sets of questions for each invitation group, I know there's been multiple sets of invitations sent out so far and all have been different. They may repeat some questions but I would guess you will have a new set of questions for your invitation group.
Goodluck.
Were your questions not the "why P72" / "how to improve this product"? Out of curiosity what product did you receive if you had the same second question? Feel free to PM me and can share my experience as well.
I was referred directly to one of the recruiters there and had a 30-minute behavioral interview and was told not to apply to the website as they'd be making me an application on their end, but I received an invite to the seminar. I haven't heard anything yet and was curious if anyone else was referred and hadn't heard back.
I wonder if that means you get to skip some steps then since you already had the behavioral while most of us regular applicants have not had any live interviews yet. It seems the steps are HireVue -> Case Study -> Behavioral + Case Debrief -> Superday
If you were referred, it sounds like you would definitely be skipping the HireVue stage if you already had a behavioral, so could probably expect case study next and straight to case debrief?
I was thinking that too..... I'm oscillating between thinking I didn't even get a hirevue and that I'm moving straight to the case or something along those lines. Curious to see if anyone else who'd been referred was in the same boat.
Anyone doing case study feel they bombed it / had a lot of errors in it? I know I won't pass to next step after this unfortunately.
I think that case study was too much and they could've chosen an easier company. PM me and we can discuss there...
what was the expectation of the case study btw ? esp. if you come from a technical modeling background but not related to Accounting/Valuation etc. i finished it just now but def dont feel i did enough
You're on anonymous so we can't PM
How long did they give you for the case study?
what was the expectation of the case study btw ? esp. if you come from a technical modeling background but not related to Accounting/Valuation etc. i finished it just now but def dont feel i did enough
Anyone else feels they did poorly on the case study? Did we all get given the same company or different? PM me to discuss I'm worried I did terribly.
correct me if I'm wrong but aren't case studies for HF's usually "Here's a company, start from scratch, and let me know what you'd do, Long, Short, etc?" Can anyone confirm this, or if it's more structured like in PE interviews?
can confirm
Anyone know how many U.S. spots the Academy is hiring for? I was thinking since there are 3 start dates and maybe 5-6 people were class, 15-18 hires? Is that aligned with what anyone has heard ?
Specifically have a contact within P72 that works in ops, and it's different every year. Is 100% driven by what the expected headcount is going to be when the Academy is over. If they think you are an asset, they'll find a spot for you, even if it is a later start date.
Gotcha, interesting - hopefully their headcount for when the Academy ends is looking strong / positive next year and hopefully they have some firm growth targets baked in there too
Any idea on how many case studies was sent out from your contact? Just trying to gauge what chances might look like
What is the background of most ppl applying? Years in the industry/previous experience?
Strategy consulting 3 YOE
Is it too late to apply online? Site mentions deadline is 10/30 but looks like multiple rounds of Hirevues have taken place
They said its on a rolling basis, so if the app is still open, you definitely have a shot. May be a slightly smaller shot as spots may fill up as you are in the pipeline, but if you want it, go for it!
Hi all, does anyone know when the invites for the 1st rounds will go out? Thx
Wondering as well - I would assume this Friday at the earliest as they tend to communicate on Fridays and need some time to review case studies I presume
Tbf they probably have a lot to go through for a week. I'd give it two weeks before we hear back anything
I submitted my case study Friday (When it was due)
How much time do they give if I may ask? Appreciate that you might not want to disclose given we are all competing
Did anyone get a confirmation after submitting case study?
No Confirmation
case studies are out! I did the hirevue this weekend and just got the case study
Are you US or London?
Yup, comment once anyone hears back from case study - will keep posted if I hear back
looks like it'll be next week...unless I got cut and didn't hear anything.
Just heard back for first round with academy recruiter to be set this week.
What time did you hear back? I haven't heard anything yet unfortunately
Automated email or does it seem like one by one personal email? (fretting cause I haven't heard anything myself) :(
Is it a technical interview or behavioral?
Just received rejection post case study. Seemingly automated.
Haven’t heard anything on my end either. The review process for the case study is likely more involved than the hirevue and the app process. I’m sure it’ll be next week.
Yea looks like it. Also, out of curiosity, what makes you interested in the program? I would imagine as 3rd year IB associate you'd be making quite a bit of company / almost VP soon. Wouldn't this be quite a step backward? Genuinely wondering.
Not overly concerned with whether or not it’s a step back. Genuinely more worried about where my interest lies. My interest is specifically in equity markets. I work hard, but I’d rather work hard at what I love than work hard at what I’m currently doing. This is an opportunity, and it’s an opportunity that provides value long term.
Anyone else not receive a post case study response yet either? I never got confirmation when sending it in so curious if others are in the same situation.
Me too
Anyone in the US not hear back (Positive or Ding) after sending Case Study in ~2 weeks ago?
me
Have you followed up with HR/recruiter? Curious what your thoughts are. Were you confident in your case study?
anyone has the interview invitation/done the interview? whats it mainly about? thanks!
What’s the first round with recruiters like?
NGL I’ve found how they handled the process so far to be a bit unrefined. Scheduling through Piazza, having a recruiter interview us after completing a 5-10+ hour case study...anyways...
Has anyone who interviewed with a recruiter receive a follow-up?
Had my interview last Friday. Have not heard back yet, but the recruiter said it would be around a week.
was it a typical behavioral interview with the recruiter?
Dinged yesterday. Best of luck to all.
