1st round w/
Barclays? Has anyone had an on campus interview with Barclays? I heard last year at my school, think (Columbia/UPenn/Cornell/Darmouth), it was one on campus interview and then you were told whether you received an offer or not. Has anyone's interview appear to be like a Lehman interview? Is it more technical or macro economic based (Barclays being a British bank)? Insight please...
that last year Barclays had only one round and then a decision- curious to see how it's changed.
Hey! This is exactly what I posted about - apparently, BoA is doing that "one interview, then decision" thing too.
I interviewed with Barclays and it was all fit.
I was inquiring about IBD. That's strange that BofA had a one interview decision. Do you have any prior finance experience (just curious since it was all fit)?
When I was in school, Barclays did only one round, on campus, for SA positions. I think I met with two people. I had an offer the next day and was subsequently flown in for a dinner and sell-day at the bank.
Edit: I stand corrected. Just spoke to a friend at Barcleh's. She said it's only one round.
hey mr. smiley, I do have a finance background through several internships. My Barclays interview was for S&T.
A large portion of Lehman's HR was fired. Barclays HR is running the show. So while they may have borrowed some of Lehman's ideas, recruiting is still going to be much like it has been in the past.
the one round interview then decision rule still stands for this year. What about the type of questions people have received for on campus IBD?
I know it was purely fit for S&T with aworldapart...anyone else?
Barclays down here in LA has two rounds.
For investment banking it was one round and then decisions were made - all fit questions and a couple questions about the current economic climate.
