Here's the email I received: "Thank you for your interest in the Morgan Stanley Freshman Enhancement Program.

We are pleased to announce an important change to the program structure. Starting in 2017, Freshman Enhancement Program participants will spend time with Morgan Stanley for one week instead of 10, either at the start or the end of the summer. Candidates will receive valuable training and gain exposure to different areas within Morgan Stanley through shadowing and networking opportunities, while still having time to pursue their other interests in the remainder of the summer.

If selected, you will receive detailed information on timing, program activities and resources to help you prepare. If you are still interested in the Freshman Enhancement Program based on the changes described, please complete your online application by Sunday, January 22 and we will look forward to reviewing your completed application in the coming weeks. Regardless, we look forward to staying in touch regarding upcoming events and programs that may be of interest to you."

Most programs for freshman would be PWM, Boutique IB/PE, or those like pre internship 3 day programs at the BB's. I know GS and JPM have them but I think those deadlines are long past.

I sent an email inquiring as to that last week. On February 16th I got the reply "Applications are currently under review and candidates can expect to hear back in the next few weeks."

So I guess that means give it at least one more week. Not gonna lie though, I jump everytime an unsaved number call my phone.

Got an email from MS inviting me for a phone interview. The guy who sent it works in Wealth Management Investment Resources, which makes sense since I selected:

1) Investment Management 2) Wealth Management 3) Bank Resource Management

I had the same idea but couldn't - I found them online just from their name/personal info I got in the interview but didn't see an email address anywhere unfortunately

I'm not sure I understand the benefit of this program, or why people care so much to get into it. Does it help for sophomore recruiting?

Originally the program was a full fledged internship, which was one of the few legit finance internships you could get as a freshman and this, as far as I can tell, helped a lot with later recruiting. Now that it's only a week it'll be less helpful, but at a minimum it gives the opportunity to network with MS people.

My recruiter informed me that after all the interviews were done, they'd send their opinions to HR who would then make their decisions. At the time he informed me "a few weeks" so, considering that was exactly a week ago, I suspect at least one more week before anyone starts hearing back

No one's heard anything back. It's more worrisome because the previous years seem much better organized. Between the severe length reduction, lack of contact, and sever delays this year's program seems pretty shoddily-organized so far.

Well, it's Monday and I haven't received either an email or phone call yet so I assume I wasn't accepted. Congratulations to those that were however and good luck!
