Blackstone interview
Hi people,
Gonna have a second (or final...not sure yet) finance interview with the corporate advisory team of Blackstone London soon. Wanna ask if the interview is gonna be very technical? Is there anythng special I should expect?
Thanks
Not that I've ever been to one, but based on what I've read and heard...yes its supposed to be extremely technical. Don't know if you've searched the forums for this, but theres a few older threads talking about some questions even...check it out if you haven't already and best of luck/congratulations
Depends on what level you are going in for, and who is interviewing you... They have some real aholes there!
blackstone m&a had a very bad year this year; they can't be mentioned in teh same sentence as greenhill evercore...etc
Why have they had such a bad year? I thought they were involved in Northern Rock, ABN. Also surely studinzski can only add weight to their practice?
Thanks for the input!
I'm interviewing for an analyst positon and dunno who i'm interviwing with yet. Gotta wait for the HR to confirm this.
I did an internship at a BB last summer...so i guess my interviews would be pretty technical ....well but i guess the technical questions these firms ask are all the same.
wow....they are even worse than Evercore? I thought Evercore's presence is already pretty small in europe...
I know that Bstone's European corporate advisory team is kinda new, but they have hired some top guns in europe recently - John Stud from hsbc and Martin Gudgeon from Close Brothers(a top restructuring boutique in Europe).
Im very interested in restructuring and have got an offer from the london office of a top restructuring firm (Lazard/Rothschild). But Bstone's lean structure and top bankers in both M&A and restructuring really interest me.
heres for example an article about it http://blogs.wsj.com/deals/2007/11/12/blackstones-ma-biz-provides-no-re…
Hi all,
I have a first round interview (on phone) with Blackstone M&A scheduled for early next week. I was told that there are going to two 30 min interviews. I would really appreciate it if someone can share their interview experience with me.
Thanks!
BX M&A is all technical and brainteasers. Be ready to talk merger models, accretion/dilution with respect to P/E, mini-case studies with valuations, etc.
BX undergraduate analyst intw (Originally Posted: 11/09/2010)
Hello guys,
Here is the story: - I have been interning for the past 6 months in a €11bn+ AUM large-caps PE fund in Europe. - I will graduate with a Finance major from a target in Europe in July 2011. --> I am interviewing in the next two weeks for an undergraduate analyst position at Blackstone London.
As you can imagine, I really want to fare well during the intw. This would definitely be my top choice.
Hence, I would be really interested from any kinds of feedbacks from anyone who has experience in intwing (both as a candidate / interviewer) at Blackstone... I am expecting technicals. I think I would be fine in doing a back-of the enveloppe lbo model, but how complex could be the one requested? (debt tranches? Pro-forma BS reajustements?...?) I am also deeply interested in feedbacks regarding culture / work experience!
Thanks in advance,
by the sound of it, you're French and interning at AXA or CVC in Paris. Expect the BX interviews to be very technical.
Not exactly... but nice try ;) Could you please give more detail on what you consider as "very technical"?
This is for a PE analyst prosition Clarkey.
Thanks for the feedback,
PE Analyst or M&A Analyst?
