Yes, the second you get in you put your job description on there, turn it around and start leveraging up towards the next internship/job.

Yup. I found it easier to update it as the internship went along (things and duties I did were fresh in my head) as opposed to waiting till the end and trying to remember what I did with great detail. Also helps to take notes of important/worthwhile tasks that you can talk about during interviews (just incase).

I'd be careful sending out your resume while interning at another bank. I think it sends a bad message that you are looking to jump over without seeing how you do at that other bank. Definitely sends mixed signals in terms of loyalty and insight. I would find it very weird if someone sent me their resume in the beginning of their internship.

I think it makes more sense to update your resume towards the end of your internship and be ready to recruit right after getting an offer.

What if you are working at third world country, but you want to get grad position in London / Hong Kong? I imagine in this case it would be fine especially if you are not working at direct competitors (regional bank in 3rd world country), right?

Work for a month or so, then be sneaky about networking out. Your bank is always going to want you to stay and do cheap boring work forever, but if you want more then you have to TAKE IT. That's how this works.

You don't need to apply for other jobs right away, either: just meet other people and open up more options for yourself.

MD8Yes, I think that's fine. My response was more geared towards interning at one bank and sending off your resume to another bank in the beginning of the internship. For example, it would be weird for the JPM banker to get a resume from someone interning at DB or BAML in the beginning of their SA stint.

It may come across as though you don't back yourself to convert to FT but you got to look after yourself, you don't know what's gunna happen at your current employer, best to keep options open.

This would seem strange, but it's exactly what I did: I got an internship to get on the radar and then approached a group I actually wanted to work for, did both for a while, then jumped ship.
