FAANG tech offer & BB IB offer: optimizing FT recruitment questions

Class of 2025. Got really lucky and will be working at FAANG+ in-semester as a tech intern, and at a BB as an IB summer analyst. majoring in CS + Econ at a target.

trying to figure out what i want to do full-time so i can optimize for that. the dream long-term: high growth start up in a particular niche, making a lot of money early on in my career, be in c-suite long term.

i'm looking for advice on what to do since either of these paths below require starting to prep now:

- if get BB return, then join FT. pros: will make more money at BB than FAANG+. cons: find work pretty boring. i dont say this to be an ass but after finding CS classes very interesting, doing excel is incredibly boring. i could try and do IB -> PE and hopefully get some operator experience there since i know once you've done 1-2 years, PE firms will let you sit on the board or get involved in day-to-day operations. why i bring this up is bc i again want to exit out of high finance – i find helping run company / ship products more interesting than M&A stuff.

- if get FAANG return, then join FT. pros: work will be a lot more interesting. cons: for the niche im interested in, and wanting to be in the c-suite, i think BB has more upside potential than FAANG

- recruit quant. pros: make a lot of money, intellectually stimulating. cons: limited exits (i enjoy working and wouldn't want to retire at 30), honestly not sure if ill be able to recruit it successfully lol.

wanted to get thoughts and opinions here, especially since my goal is to be in the c-suite / exit to a start-up / be rich. i don't want to stay in finance forever, i want to help actually run a company. but basically confused and lost and need to figure it out so i can optimize my recruitment timeline.

"high growth start up in a particular niche, making a lot of money early on in my career, be in c-suite long term."

Based on this goal, I think this is a no-brainer. Take the FAANG offer (hopefully it's not Amazon as I've heard very mixed things due to culture although I heard their Finance team has one of the better cultures internally).

Also beware a FAANG internship offer doesn't guarantee a return offer. At my MBA program, it sounds like 50% of the interns at Amazon didn't get offers. And rumor has it, IB wasn't pretty this year though (although at my MBA program, return offer rate was 90%+).

Did my summer internship in a Tech related industry and I don't regret it despite not having a return offer on hand (still in conversation with my summer company for FT). The experience was great nonetheless and matches up with my long term goals.

EDIT: If you're smart enough to be considered for Quant roles, no harm in applying to them / interviewing for them FT. Don't know anyone personally that went that route but money is money ... and they pay FTs from undergrad an absurd amount. Exits are probably not as limited as you think.
