I did it last year, pretty sure everyone gets accepted unless maybe you are really bad, it's pretty useless though

I just got invited to it. Should I just decline to join the program then? It doesn't add any value and give you priority for GS recruiting right?

declining might look bad, just dont say anything but dont show up

if you have no other financial experience then yeah throw it on until you get an internship. if you have anything actually meaningful then fuck no. it obviously shows some interest but it's probably more so something to mention in an interview or over the phone rather than banking on that to push your resume through. take that as you will, insights from a prospect lol, although in my experience events like that tend to serve best as conversation points and answers to "why us?" "why ib?" - has worked for me at least

The people that got accepted today to the 2021 Spring Virtual Insight Series were the candidates that did well in the 2021 Possibilities Summit and were invited to the Virtual Insight Series as a follow-on event.

Yeah I don't trust how selective it is at all. It says they reviewed 10,000 apps but who knows if they took all of them lol

Worth it for answering technical questions and potentially for the interview process itself. Would say it is worth it, but not resume worthy or a linkedin flex that should be put out considering most applicants get accepted (I think based on consensus

Same. I don't know if I just decline to do it lol. Seems like a waste of time and a bs participation type deal where everyone gets it.

Looking at previous years threads seems like everyone and their mom gets in tbh

Bump if it doesn't I might as well decline the invite and save myself 2 hours a week lol

The email said it was from diversity recruiting, but I'm non-target and non-diversity. Current sophomore. Am I not supposed to be in the program if I'm not diversity? Also, is this program even worth it to do? Does it give you any advantage during GS recruiting this summer?

To everyone asking questions in this thread: no it is not flex worthy. From my experience last year, there were easily 700+ students in those zooms, not selective at all (or even diversity exclusive). Please DO NOT make huge LinkedIn posts about getting in or put it in your work history. It’s really cringe. Like really, really cringe.

For freshmen: it’s basically useless. That said, it's not a huge time commitment so just put it on mute in the background. You can create a line item at the bottom of your resume that goes “exploratory programs: Goldman Sachs Summer Insight Series, Citi Early ID” if you do enough of these programs to warrant mentioning.

For sophomores: there’s a resume drop at the end of the 2 months that feeds into super days. No idea how competitive it is, but I’m pretty sure your chances aren’t great in a pile of 1,000 candidates.

For juniors: there’s a junior track? I didn't even know and am unfamiliar what the perks are… maybe chance at full time recruiting?

Source: did it last year and got into it again this year but will not be participating since I already signed with GS/MS/JPM IBD.
