Gtown RBC CVP update
Know that the summer just begin for all the good interns out there (not for this guy since he is shit.) I was wondering if anyone can explain how it is to work with him at CVP. Or can we finally confirm if the offer was pulled for last summer. I have heard mixed things but couldn't find his LinkedIn for the last few weeks so I just want to know if anyone knows the story.
I heard he is still there this summer and no offer was pulled. If he is not there it is because he decided to not go.
Heard he “declined” the offer per Biggie no Cheese substack
Holy that substack is a goldmine. Is that acc him or a parody account?
It is him. Dam i read it that kid seems like he really had a change in heart because of that. But its crazy to see someone go do their own shit. But now he is in dubai apparently.
Why is it a goldmine. Can you send it. Id like to see
What do you mean he declined? He reneged?
can you explain how you see coping. I read it and didn’t get that vibe.
read his substack. everybody shits on him but appears hes just balling.
he seems chill but why does he talk like a retard on his substack
Can you elaborate on this. I’m confused how he talks like a retard ?
Read the substack and holy shit it is inspiring to say the least.
To begin. It seems this kid really did not lose the offer. Nor was everything said last summer true. People really did seem to make shit up. But its cool to hear from the kid's perspective. It seems what happened was he was able to meet people outside of finance his age making good money launching businesses. He also realized the system is broken at large. He also traveled to asia and europe middle east and skipped class to do it. It just overall seems that kid gained a new perspective most of us will never reach because we choose to stay inside this bubble. He even got an offer at MBB and turned it down because its the same as ib fundamentally. When you read the blogs it really all makes sense of that kids actions and I think he is going to be very successful. Funny guy to say the least. I think there can be a lot to learn from reading his blogs. 9/10 imo
The meat riding here is actually insane… Kid got his offered pulled but it’s murky as to whether he got it back or not, but he’s doing stuff now that he seems to like. But it’s factual that he was a horrible intern at RBC and flaunted how he was going to CVP the following summer and of course that led to him fucking himself over. But he seems to be fine now and the kid is funny at times but an absolute goober in general.
Anyone have link to substack?
Bump
Dawg have u heard of this tool call google?
this kid is honestly kinda based lol
Bro went from getting shitted on to just saying fuck this lol
Can someone drop the link to his substack lmao
Bump
Anyone think this shit is just made up to cover for the fact he got his offer pulled?
Who is this guy? can anyone link me the substack?
Can someone give a tdlr on which blog is the best to read. Or a summary of each one?
ChatGPT it...?
One that I’d read is the dangers of prestige and status. Some good points made in there.
Read the blogs. Kid just seems to talk the most about authenticity and forging your own path in them.
The kid left the industry and we are still talking about him a year later.
why tf do you care so much
He took a spot from someone who’s actually qualified.
You might be an actual loser lmao
Maybe you should go read the blogs and you can feel better.
lmao cope you sound unemployed
Get a job bro, it's never that deep
This shit is another classic to the summer.
CVP open for FT 25 basically? LFG this guy is goated for that.
Wtf is this thread I don’t understand
We are talking about the kid from rbc last summer. As know one knows if he lost his cvp offer. But after we saw his substack. It appears that he never lost it and he reneged himself.
Anyone know the actual whereabout of this kid. I cannot find anything of him now. No LinkedIn or his socials either? What is he doing now?
He did not get his offer pulled. He chose to leave CVP to pursue his own ventures and as he should.
You got kids on Wall Street dying after their MDs are forcing 110 work weeks for an entire month with news channels suppressing it. There exists a toxic corporate bubble and a lot of us only see this as a temporary job rather permanent.
You can clown him all you want. He walked away from THE elite boutique and is doing better than he would if he stayed. That’s admirable
This is a very interesting if true. Ive never heard of someone reneging Centerview before. He might be the first.
THIS IS THE BIGGEST LIE I HAVE EVER SEEN. That kid was complete dog shit last summer. HE lost his offer. HE literally did. NO WAY someone turns down Centerview Partners to start a business. That is a fucking lie. I cant belive people are dumb to fall for this story. You have 100% chance to become a millionaire at Centerview. You can got nearly 0% since you are a shit person like him with no skills and no work ethic to run a business. Obviosity he aint starting no business his offer was pulled and the business and renege story is a cover up to justify his loss. IDK why people are stupid. Look what people at his school said .
"I know for a fact it got pulled. Everyone in GTown already knows why. Are you him? Now he is lying about a startup. Reality is the kid needs to face what he did; it’s sad but a result of his actions. "
THE meat riding of this kid in this thread is astronomical. This kid's offer was pulled and he is not there this summer. It is simple as that.
I cant access the posts what the fuck. Can someone leak it? I have to pay to see it?
How are you to decide he didn’t deserve it. He grinded for it just like the rest of us. Sounds like cope. Bringing up the diversity card like the kid still had to good out of other candidates to get it.
diversity kids at many firms literally skip rounds of interviews, receive less technical questions, etc. If you're over the age of 25 you likely have not seen how bad it's gotten.
You literally read all his blogs and talk shit on him and say he didn’t grind his ass off. You’re the fucking loser man. Kid got CVP and turned it down to go take a risk which is something you will never do.
People like you are THE exact reason this industry won’t change. Always wanting to hate on someone doing better than you and not figuring out how to learn from them. You want to justify why he ain’t shit so you feel better about your inferiority to him.
Diversity recruiting (like all recruiting) is hit or miss. You could get the next Robert smith / Ray McGuire / Tidjane thiam or you could get a gtown kid like this. Likewise for women, you could get the next Jane Fraser / Gayle turk / Kim posnettt or you could get the girl that burns out a few months into the analyst stint or that one girl who did an SA at laz but rejected a career in banking to do adult entertainment. Focusing on the few cases of black/woman hires that didn't go well is extremely dishonest when it's not like they proportionally turn out to be MASSIVE disasters relative to their peers (especially for your average black guy).
Again, I am saying this all as a moderately conservative white guy so I really don't have any bias in this. Perhaps it's because I come from a statistics background and I have some really competent black colleagues is why I decided to chime into this terrible argument. I have a lot of experience in this game and can personally say I have only seen such disasters at my EB with 3 girls and 2 upper-middle class white guys, though of course my experience is not universal, nonetheless it is a sample.
Why are we acting like this kid did something horrible. He literally could have went to cvp this summer and did good learning from his mistakes from last summer. Instead we are acting like this kid is complete shit and can’t change. It’s fucking disgusting and now we are bringing race into this.
