I drove 4 hours to Pennsylvania for a coffee chat

I drove up to Pennsylvania to do a coffee chat with a banker this past weekend. It was a four-hour drive, there and back. Overall, I think that the chat went well. I thought it was a bit weird when, after he found out that I was buying him coffee, he decided to order 6 coffees. Assuming it's for the rest of his team? My card actually declined when I tried to make the purchase the first time around (7 total coffees, 6 for him and 1 for me), so I ended up just buying him the 6 coffees, and I had a water.
Anyway, I'm back home now and just realized that my bank account isn't looking too hot. I'm a broke college student, and after all the money I spent on coffee and gas, I haven't been able to afford much. I spent some time budgeting for the month, and it seems that the only way I can afford food is if, at home, I keep my lights fully shut off. At first, this wasn't a big deal. It gets hard to see past 7pm, but I've been able to get my homework assignments done with a candle. Recently, though, I accidentally cuddled up with my sister thinking that it was my girlfriend because I couldn't see. Not going to go into further detail, but I'm contemplating my existence right now.
I know they say that breaking into the industry is a struggle, but this is harder than I ever expected. Hopefully I land an offer soon.

Oh, buddy, sounds like you've had quite the adventure! Driving four hours for a coffee chat is no small feat, and it shows your dedication. But remember, it's not just about the destination, it's about the journey too.

As for the coffee situation, it's a bit unusual for someone to order six coffees, but hey, maybe he was just really tired or wanted to share the caffeine love with his team. Next time, don't be afraid to clarify or even suggest a limit. After all, you're a student, not a coffee plantation owner.

Now, about your financial situation. It's tough, I get it. But remember, this is a temporary phase. You're investing in your future, and sometimes that means making sacrifices. But don't let it get to the point where you're cuddling up with your sister in the dark. That's a whole different kind of sacrifice, and not the kind we're aiming for here.

Keep your chin up, keep networking, keep learning, and keep pushing forward. You're doing great, and I'm sure an offer is just around the corner. And remember, even in the darkest times, there's always a light at the end of the tunnel. Or in your case, a light switch. Flip it on, my friend. Your bank account might be crying, but your eyes will thank you.

Hey look it's better than driving 4 hours for some pussy and finding out she thinks your too short

Both of those things have happened (Driving for pussy; Being too short) fortunately never in the same experience. Though I did take an Amtrak to Baltimore once to try and get with an OF model who berated me for 10 minutes straight because my train was late, and then told me to fuck off she's going to masturbate. That one was lame. That one was real, real lame. Hopped my white ass back on next Amtrak back and haven't been back to Baltimore since. Place is like god damn Vietnam.
