International Student Interns: Are you allowed to WFH???
Hello, I am currently an international student and was wondering if I any internationals are allowed to work from home abroad for their internship?
MS allowed international students to WFH. You don't even need OPT/CPT.
Heard same at BAML, they put them with the local office
Can confirm BAML because I am an APAC intern who's gonna work with a US team (and getting my start date delayed cuz of doing onboarding process all over again :/)
Just fly back. Have seen international’s offer at a BB rescinded at this stage

It’s hard but at this stage maybe (i) ask for exception that you can work with the time gap or (ii) ask to be placed in local office (maybe more similar timezone). Gotta secure the return offer no matter what dude.
Does JPM allow US interns to work outside of US?

It may be tricky if they need to mail you a laptop. Plus you may need to connect to their server, not sure how feasible it would be. Hope it all works out !
They would not send you a laptop unless you really need it. I think they probably worry about how challenging cooperation would be given the 12-hour time gap...

No - personally know a JPM intern who was required to be at the work location stated in the contract.. cant WFH from a different country for regulatory reasons
What would happen if the intern cannot return to the work location due to travel restrictions?
HR will rescind the offer (but will probably try to work on alternatives e.g., next year SA/or fast track FT interview?)
Could they work at the local office isntead? someone suggested this in a different comment.

International student stuck in the EU for HK office: I am allowed to WFH as long as I have the rights to work in the local country. Needed to sign new contract with the local office but still work with original team with time difference.

What can differentiate international students to get an OPT other than having a STEM degree? what advice would you give to the international students who’re seeking OPT in JPM, Goldman, etc?
bruh OPT isnt company specific. You just apply for it without even needing a job. Ask you international dean
