JP Morgan Chase BA Early Advantage Program

I looked at previous threads but was unable to find anything that was particularly insightful. Anyone that already had there phone interview, any advice? What questions should I expect? Also, how would I answer questions like why JP Morgan Chase?

I never got an email confirmation after i submitted my application so I don't even know if they took my app in for review lol But dam never realized there were interviews involved in this

Was the interview more conversational in the sense that the interviewer wanted to get to know you and your interests? Or were there technical questions too?

i'm from non-target and got an interview...any advice on how to prepare for technical questions? or other questions they ask?

I was talking to one of my friends who's at GS now and they were telling me that really it doesn't matter if you go to a target or not to some degree. Nowadays tuition is so expensive that some "target" quality kids aren't at that school because its too expensive. Also, it costs the companies less if lets say they're headquartered at a certain location to get good kids from a "non-target" that could probably do the same job than spend money getting people from all over the country. So I would say its harder for people who aren't in the HQ state. It's all about making yourself visible within a company and showing you're competent not sooo so much the school anymore.

I would wait a bit more for JPM. Had an interview with them just on the 29th of March. I asked when will we get response. They said March 31ish

I didn't receive a rejection either. I think they will at least let us know the decision tho. I talked to couple juniors and seniors who applied previous years.

I got the invite for Chicago, but shameless question, anyone have the rundown? I believe it was on the application page but I can't find it anywhere

I did it last year in CHI and loved it. Really great introduction to the bank.

For why JPM, I think I looked at specific projects I was passionate about (so for example their investment in Detroit, which I was personally impacted by when I visited) and sort of making it personal. They also emphasize their winning culture, so bring that up.

Tricky behaviorals, and technicals similar to what you would get for an ib interview ...no joke. I was asked about debt, equity and stuff like that. 2300 applied to this only 300 got an interview

Know the major deals that are going on, especially the ones that JPM is advising on.

Other than that, your main goal should be to collect as much contact info as possible. It's unlikely that anyone will remember you from just the event, but if you follow up, you'll definitely stand out, and this is what'll get you the interview when it's recruiting season
