Lateraling for Full Time or Beyond

Hi everyone, I'm a junior at a target school in NY (think Dyson AEM, Columbia, Stern). After struggling with personal issues the whole summer, I finally sucked it up and lucked out with a SA offer at a lesser known MM in a coverage group (infrastructure) that I fear may pigeonhole my exit opportunities in the future. Although I feel really fortunate to have received the offer, I want to look at lateraling for my full time or perhaps later (that is, assuming that I get a return offer). Would anyone have any insights on how I should go about this? Thank you in advance.

Get the return offer. Network from now, and over the summer, to position yourself at a diff. firm. I would suggest no more than a focus on one or two firms with a very narrow focus on a specific group. Network effectively, get a return offer, lever it to get an interview at another firm. If you don't get the FT offer, you have a backup plan of your Jr. intern group/firm.
