MS Menlo did this deal and was the sole advisor to Elon Musk as well as X, no other banks were on this
I know it’s not unusual for a bank to be on both sell side and buy side in some cases but how do they get paid? Or how much on a deal like that
Not sure about this deal specifically, but would imagine it was a huge fee event for MS.
Would look at the total fees paid to both the sellside and buyside advisors in precedent $100Bn+ mergers to get an idea.
do you know how big the ms menlo team is? (how many senior snd junior)
This news article points to MS as the exclusive advisor, both sell-side and buy-side

"Morgan Stanley was the sole banker on the deal, representing both sides"
Hah- both sides! There is only one side -whatever benefits musk. Seems like a convinient way to rescue him from the twitter shitshow.
lol X at like 35x heavily adjusted PF EBITDA. Suppose it's relative valuation exercise -- $80bn is probably rich for xAI as well.
