Need Advice: Barclays ER or continue hunting
thank you everyone who give value advice in advance. I got an exploding offer from barclays ER. My top choice would be IBD but recruiting is so early this year (not sure how many chances are there rn) and I am an international student (sponsor issues). I am thinking about whether I should take it and try to move to IBD for either full-time or extend my graduation date and recruit for IBD again next year. OR should I let this offer go and try to recruit for IBD rn? Seriously need advice on should i take it and what is the possibility move from summer ER to IBD?
I would take ER especially with needing to be sponsored. Barclays is a strong ER shop and it shouldn't be hard to get FT IBD looks. Don't think it's worth extending your graduation or chasing the few remaining SA19 spots, unless you really hate the idea of being in ER.
Take it, unless you are already far in the process at another place and you think you stand a decent chance

I would say semi.. but i know they already filled half of their intern class (for ER)
Take it. A bird in the hand is better than 2 in the bush. I might be more adventurous if you weren't international, but since you are, I'd just accept, Do a good job, continue networking, and try to lateral within.

It's going to be the easiest within your own brand. But other banks is definitely doable, it's going to be hard making the jump to PJT/BX or something, but that goes for mostly everyone...even people who are doing banking internships
Also - when does it explode? If you have a week or something close to that, it's common to try to leverage that into places that you're in the process for / could run a process for you. If you just did a first round, you can try to push your way to an earlier superday by saying you have an exploding offer. etc etc
