Odds of Getting Buyside Interviews out of a Canadian Bank

I'm a college senior starting an IB analyst role in July at one of the big Canadian Banks. I'm in a pretty respectable NYC group at the bank and will be looking to interview for US private equity/private credit roles. Should I expect to struggle to get interviews due to being at a Canadian bank? Should I try to jump to a BB after a year to improve my odds of getting interviews? Anyone have any experience with buyside headhunters coming out of a Canadian/MM bank?
