Do you know anything about culture? Or if it’s worth going there as a first year analyst?

Tech Banker

This is inaccurate, not to mention immature. Peak is a solid tech IB boutique with significant deal flow and experienced senior bankers that take pride in mentoring junior bankers. Peak's execution is best-in-class, especially when compared to other tech boutiques. They staff full teams, led by senior bankers, on every deal.

This is about as pathetic as you can get.

Lots of deal flow. Low turnover of employees which says something. Senior bankers take pride in mentoring the junior bankers, which is pretty rare in my opinion. As a junior banker, you’re also given a lot of responsibility early on.

Comp is in line with other boutiques.

Some of the junior bankers are supposed to only do deal execution OR business development, not both. So, just make sure you understand your role before joining the firm.

Used to work at PEAK a few years ago. Moved to the buyside, but if I were ever to go back to the sellside, this would be my shop for sure. Good culture. Decent work-life balance. Good comp as long as you are doing deals - the deal flow is solid, so less of a worry. Mds definitely know what they're doing on both bus dev and execution. Take pride in mentorship. Still friends with them years later.

Really doubt anyone at Peak would care enough to go on here and write comments about themselves tbh. I know a few people there, and the culture really is unlike other IB's. If you even get accepted into their co-op program, definitely go- you're not going to find the level of full-on company integration elsewhere. They literally even give all of the co-ops Arc'teryx vests. says something. And all of the people I know there are super sharp--good mentors.

I used to work here years ago. Left for the buyside, but miss this place. PEAK is a solid place to work with good people. Now that I'm on the other side, I'll tell you they source and probably close more deals than almost any other MM software IB. The MDs are experienced and knowledgeable. They give you the work, but they also take the time to guide you.

PE-biz-dev

Really good a few years ago but a lot of their best people left to start Kaizen. Still a decent shop for growth equity-type deals... SEG, Vista Point would be closest comps.

Haha. Kaizen?! Heard those guys got fired.

Those Kaizen guys can source but it’s a ticking time bomb before they blow themselves up again. They also have zero MM or BB experience so their idea of running a process looks a lot more like what a recent marketing undergrad would put together. Several multi-bil AUM PE firms already have them blacklisted for questionable ethics. Like I said, they will blow up after they figure out their next way to self destruct. You are better off at a platform that does things the right way and has staying power.

Kaizen Equity Partners? The fuck? I think I know who @PE-biz-dev is. Also a shady fucking dude. Thankfully the buyside is onto these guys. Was at a pitch the other day and the CEO said her board (Summit, Vista) only told her to avoid one IB firm......Kaizen Equity Partners. Shit is catching up with these guys.

Dogshit/ASS tier firm. Go to MS Menlo, Q, Goldman TMT, Evercore M&A even Jefferies Tech or DB Tech over that place.

Thanks for the insight. Not.

This string gets better and better every time I visit.

Let me summarize with my overly-qualified opinion:
Peak Technology Partners = solid reputation, good place to work
VPA = solid
SEG = solid
Kaizen Equity Partners = A dude who used to work for Kaizen blew the whistle on how bad they are. Word is out!

Keep up the shit talking though! This is entertaining.
