PNC Corporate/Investment Banking Summer Analyst?
Has anybody done this internship or know much about it? I have searched but did not find too much info... what kind of stuff do you work on, what are the hours like, etc.
I know it isn't M&A, as that's mostly done through Harris Williams.
Thanks for any help.
PNC breaks down the structure into Corporate Banking and Investment Banking. Corporate Banking deals with more of the salesman for the bank position and Investment Banking housing the capital markets groups.
The Capital Markets Groups are as followed: Sales/Trading Rotation (FX, Fixed Income, FIG, Derivatives), Structured Products Group, Equity Sponsors, Asset and Liability Management, ABS, and Loan Syndications.
The Investment Banking Summer Analyst Role is broken down into Loan Syndications or Asset Backed Securities.
2 of the most competitive groups at PNC. They are 2-3 year programs in nature (full time). Even though PNC is a Super Regional Bank and does not technically have an Investment Bank Division (aside from Harris Williams and Co).
Any other questions?
Can you elaborate on the Corporate Banking side? And how easy to go from CB to IB within PNC?
Thanks!
How is the exit opportunities for BB's? I'm trying to leverage my PNC ABF internship for a more traditional M&A role.
Anyone know much about PNC RiverArch, the PE side of PNC?
Thanks, that's really helpful. Would you say RiverArch is still a decent place to be or would Incline be the better place to target?
the IB side of PNC is hw&co
This is extremely helpful, CompBanker. Thank you for the great information.

PNC just listed an IBanking internship on my school jobsite. I have a 3.4 GPA. Do you think I have a shot at landing this? And I have heard that PNC superday is extremely competitive. Any thoughts?
What school? All superdays are competitive... 3.4 is a bit on the low side, but good luck.
Was invited to a PNC Superday last year. Obviously it's competitive but it didn't feel like it at all. The people, from the interviewers to the candidates, all seemed like nice people and it was a real relaxed environment
