Sorry to hop on, but how about private equity fund raising?

Hi. New to this. Any help is greatly appreciated. Could someone tell me: 1) what exactly do private equity fund groups (fundraising) do on a daily basis? any modeling, if yes what kind?, etc. What is the background of most of their associates/ VPs? 2) how do they hire? What qualities do they look for in an associate? 3) the well-known PFGs on the street 4) what kind of interviews do they conduct? case studies, modeling, etc? 5) compensation structure and bonus 6) exit options

Lazard, Blackstone Park Hill, Greenhill come to mind. Moelis just is starting to enter the space since I read they snatched some headcount from Greenhill. From my limited experience, PFA usually quite top heavy, and base is comparable to banking. Excellent lifestyle, meet alot of people, but there might be alot of traveling involved depending on your coverage. I wouldn't start off as an analyst though; exit options are quite limited from what I see. I know Lazard's PFA expects analysts to move to business school and direct promotes are not looked favorably upon. Nevertheless, it seems like a sweet gig!
