question about sponsorship for H1B visa
Quick question for IB or consulting firms specifically, why many small medium and even big companies do not sponsor for international students for working Visa? Is it because the process is annoying or expensive? Thanks.
both annoying and expensive. and internationals don't offer anything special that US citizens don't have (other than language skills, except that everything in the US is done in english)
DukeMonkey1 summed it up pretty well. The supply of international students applying to American firms is vast, especially from Asia; and the demand is small. Tough job market for international students.
Long, expensive, pain in the ass, also you're not THAT much better than the rest of us (US Citizens)
International students should look for jobs back in their home countries unless they have real ties to the US (like marriage or duel-citizenship).
Also really hard for US Citizens to get a Tier 2 VISA to live and work in the UK so we're in the same boat. So don't be bitter. I couldn't find a sponsor in London so I'm now in IB in NYC. Good luck.
lol yeah i was surprised how the U.K. doesn’t bend over for Americans. I had to marry a British lady to have full flexibility to work between the US and UK
prime reason is changes to the immigration policies. now they have to have in-house work for their H1-B sponsored employees to justify their salary and perks and show immigration department why they can't find the talent locally. its tedious and expensive both and firms do not like to overburden themselves with unnecessary work these days. :)
