Will one of you young'uns give me the skinny on what SA timelines look like now? Just seems to me that timelines are getting pushed earlier every year.
For BIG 5 and national apps open early sept/mid to late august. (I think BMO and national might do accelerated but I’m not totally sure.)
For US banks with Toronto/Calgary offices,
They are kind of scattered from now to sept/august. CS is usually first out of the gate and BAML is quite late.
That’s all I know and I’m hoping I can get something for next summer (I’m currently second year).

None for me. Only CS and JPM (Calgary) are out rn though. Haven't heard of anything yet though I'd imagine that some Ivey/Queens students have had some accelerated interviews

yes, almost every bank does them in Canada too. I think many of them have been posted for a while though ...

RBC & CIBC diversity apps are done. BMO's is due end of April.

Yeah pretty silly but thats how they do it. I think they just hire 50 interns in advance of one year. Although only a small % actually end up in IB/S&T, pretty sure you should communicate your interest before applying. The rest go into commercial banking/tech/other back office roles.

wtf is RBC doing posting this early man? Does anyone know if they are going to start interviews later (late summer) or if this is the new norm.) Also anyone know if its rolling and if its better to network a little more there first before applying lol?

It says apps are due August so assume we probably have more time. Also doesn't say rolling in the application.
RBC always had apps super early for whatever reason. Recall in my first year RBC SF opened almost 2 years in advance

I know someone who got an interview for National Bank 2023 SA scheduled next week. I applied to the same role and same office last year and first rounds were at the very end of August so they're moving much more quickly this year. Hope that helps you guys.

Their diversity application deadline was May 8th. No Summer postings out right now but Fall co-op postings are out now.

I talked to the guys running recruiting for my school and they said it's fully closed. If you know someone you could maybe try getting your resume straight through to them - I had tech issues with the assessment and they let me do that.

Anyone know when the MM arms of the Big 6 post their summer internships? Or firms like Canaccord Genuity, Raymond James and Origin Merchant Partners?
Canaccord will open late Summer, Origin likely to start September-ish.
MM big 6 post about 4 months out (so for SA2023 it would be around Dec 2022 or Jan 2023).
Cannacord usually does interviews late august (from what Im told). RJ posted around Nov 2021 for SA 2023. Origin is ~8 months in advance for summer (~4 months in advance for co-ops.)

As for diversity, I think the big 5 do their diversity processes earlier than their regular process. You still apply through the regular posting but apply early and go through the process early. I think for RBC the diversity process will begin this/next week and BMO diversity process is a similar timeline too.
pretty sure RBC diversity already gave out offers like 2 months ago - most applications are past for the Big5 and National. Best bet might be applying through regular pool, Scotia already opened up for 23 SA
