Hey Intern in IB - Gen, sorry about the delay, but are any of these useful:
More suggestions...
I hope those threads give you a bit more insight.
I just got a first-round phone screening.
Where do you apply?
Got the offer last weekend. Hope this helps
Pm me I did as well let’s link
do y’all have any insights into the process with them and what to expect?
How quickly did you get the offer after superday
I haven't heard back yet been a little over two weeks. How long has it been for you? I find it hard to imagine they are waiting more than two weeks to extend an offer to their top choice so I'm not very optimistic at my chances
-
do they take non targets at all?
Yeah they take a few each year.
Does anyone know when they are done handing out first rounds? I've reached out to the HR, but never heard back
I had my Superday last week. We were told we would hear back between 1-2 weeks. It seems to be a rolling process.
so you saying theres still chance if we network?
Has anyone reached out to the HR? I've never heard from her after emailing...
last year i networked after i heard first rounds were happening, got interviewed and eventually got the offer. they continued recruiting throughout the summer and fall, not sure if it's the same this year.
Is there an application online for PJ or no?
I know I've also applied on Handshake - not sure if there's a online portal
Does anyone know what are PJ Solomon's target schools?
I'd say Wharton, Harvard, Yale, Brown, Duke, Michigan, Columbia, NYU in no particular order
How hard are the interviews, especially on the technicals? Would it be more 400 Q's guide level or more difficult than that?
i think it depends on your experience. Like are you a finance or liberal arts major? Do you have IB Experience?
Any insight on when offers go out after SD?
She said 1-2 weeks. Did you interview yesterday? Cause same! We should talk about it hahah
i have a first-round coming up (not the informational)? how technical was it? I've taken financial accounting, but I am not a business major, so i am not as well versed on the technicals
Y'all I just had my informational and she said I could expect a first round, I think the decisions/super days must still be happening and on a rolling basis.
How was the informational? Was it all behaviorals and what kind of questions were asked?
Yep, basically: walk me thru and why PJ.
Anyone here have a first round with them?
Can anyone send the link to the application? I’m at a semi-target but definitely seems to be a non target for PJ Solomon. Thanks in advance
gotta get through networking--no general application unless you go to a target
bump
How long does it take to get a first round after the informational and does anyone have info on how selective that process is?
i dont think its all that selective and i heard back in less than a week via email
Sounds good. Fingers cross I get a first round
Have the super day next week, if anyone did it already what'd they ask? Feel free to PM me too would be much appreciated
Does anyone know what PJ Solomon's summer intern class size is? and how much of that has been filled at this point. Thank you!
believe this year is ~20 and they're aiming for slightly larger for '22
Was told it was 25
From anyone who had a super day with them or got an offer provide any insights to their process? Any questions that were not expected?
How long after first round can you expect a super day? Been abt a week and a half haven’t heard back yet
Sorry I don't have an answer to your question, but how was the first round like? Was it technical at all?
first round was about 15 mins behavioral, 10 mins technical, 5 mins questions
i heard back within 2 days
Shoot so that’s not a good sign regarding super day for me right
Are you diversity?
Does anyone know if they are still holding super days? Had a first round recently and haven't heard back. Not sure if they are still recruiting
just had a superday last week
heard back really quickly after the first round, like next day
Are you diversity?
How are exit opps?
following
Anyone had a first round recently? I had one last week, and I haven't heard back yet. Wonder what is the usual timeline like?
Turn around from 1st round to superday invite was three days for me. I did my superday a couple days ago and they told all of us to "expect to hear back in 1 to 2 weeks" so maybe things are getting busy. If it has been a week, I would reach out.
Got it. It's been more than a week, so I guess I can assume that I am dinged. I appreciate the advice.
How hard were the technicals? Do you mind giving a few examples of what they asked?
It was very behavioral, but the technicals weren't hard. Standard DCF, walk through the three statements and understand how to bridge EV to EQ, given my PE experience I was asked to walk through an LBO. But I imagine they will improvise technicals and grill you on things that you say. For instance, I brought up the SPAC market and they asked me follow-up questions, so make sure you know what you're talking about. I learned some interesting stuff after they drilled past what I knew. Overall, I had a great time.
How much is the SA signing bonus for those who got the offer?
no signing bonus chief
Can someone confirm?
Ended up getting the offer, turn around from First round to super day is roughly 2-4 days and Super day to offer is 2 days. Any longer and probably waitlisted or denied. Standard technicals, big emphasis on talking about your experience and behaviorals.
Congratulations! Hope to join you. What types of behaviorals are asked?
dude...you really need the behaviorals in advance??? I get asking for the technicals but c'mon man
it's the same 5 questions each time
Honestly, it was a little different than just the standard behaviorals. Got a few of those (i.e. walk me through, tell me about a time, etc) but the main parts of the interviews for me personally were just having a normal conversation about the stuff on my resume and other general stuff. Essentially just assessing fit, no bullshit. Just be someone they'd like to grab a beer with relatively simple. Hope this helps
Had a super day yesterday. Mine was pretty technical in 3 out of 4 of the interviews. I’d say 10-15 minutes committed to asking technicals. Seems like most people had behavioral interviews, did anyone else get asked a lot of technicals?
that’s crazy my superday had only one interview where a technical was even asked
standard 400Qs guide technicals or like outside of the guide stuff? anything you didn't expect like brain teasers?
Do you have super day this week?
It’s loosely based on 400 m&I. If you can answer those types of questions you’re chilling.
Semi-target (for IB in general, not sure about PJS), no previous IB experience. I had an incredibly technical interview. Barely behavioral past tell me about yourself/why IB. No why PJS. Honestly was fun, even challenging questions I thought I nailed based on reactions/pushing further. All the interviewers were great guys/gals and I see why PJS is a great place to be. They had me do a follow-up interview with an MD after my superday and then put me on waitlist.
How long did it take for you guys to hear back after the informational? It's been a while for me and I'm starting to lose hope...
It took more than a week to get first round after the informational for me, so certainly don't lose hope
Thanks for the info this makes me feel a lot better
Is it worth reaching out, are they still in the recruitment process?
Nothing to lose
Been 6 days since my Super Day, do you think that I means I’m most likely denied or waitlisted?
How did you guys get the informational first round call? I go to a non-target so I am not sure of the process that PJ Solomon has for recruitment.
I go to a non-target and they literally just found my resume on a website that I had to use for another bank (Lincoln) and were like we want you to interview w us. I'm diversity w a 3.8 if that helps.
also, their process is a bit less structured I'd say, so if you have a good networking chat and that might lead your way for a first round interview
.
Like a couple hours after I responded.
I haven’t heard back from super day 12 days ago. Does PJ Solomon take a while to get back to people or is it most likely a no? Worth following up or too early
Been 4 weeks and they haven’t gotten back to me after SD. Is it appropriate to follow up? I know it’s probably a no but decent thing would be for them to get back to me
Have an informational interview coming up. Anyone know if it can lead into a first round?
its basically an HR screen, its the prerequisite for a first round.
Is it easy? Did you get a 1st round after it? I'd guess it's mostly basic behaviorals. Correct me if I'm wrong. It's only 15 mins
How did you go about getting the informational interview?
Is it worth trying to network or is this process basically done?
Bump does anyone know if there are any spots open
How long does it take to hear back from a superday?
What is the first round interview like?
Is their intern class full? Non target and non diversity specifically
Know somebody who got an internship offer in the past couple days
has anyone heard back for Superday in NYC after first round last week?
I believe SA 2022 is now finished up at PJ Solomon - Anyone have any insight to this?
They are. Networked into 1st round earlier in the month, heard back they had filled the class. Interviewers said that I had done well and that if people reneged they'd reach out. I doubt they were just being nice - could've outright rejected me.
Does anyone know if SA offer letters will be updated to 100k pro rated? Signed before their July announcement
