Lol, two accounts by the same guy bumping the same post. This is one guy with too much time in his hands.

Since you have way too much time on your hands, it would be worthwhile for you to do the CFA prep. After all, what else do you have, except for trolling WSO with hypothetical situations and nonsensical qns. Something better than nothing, and the CFA is something.

I would recommend it if you planning to work in Dubai or middle east area. I have some contacts working in Dubai and the all said CFA is highly recommended in that area but if you trying to work in the states I dont think that CFA would matter that much right out of undergrad. since I am also running for SA and dont have any personal experience so take my advice with a grain of salt
I heard one needs ~300 hrs of study. Depending on your memory and intelligence, the time may fluctuate.
I have 1 year in my hand. So I will do 1-1.5 hr every day, that will give me +365 hrs of study.
Hope it works out well! I got three more years in college. Trying to plan how to go about this. I am also an international student but I do wish I could work in the States. If I can't, will probably head over somewhere else that has a big financial center in that area. Heard CFA has become more of like a certification that shows resilience more than anything. It doesn't really matter if you don't have one but a lot of other people have it so why not?
My main reason behind study for it is to give me a better understanding of the subjects I learn at school for business administration.
I have had recruitment and internship experience in ME and Asia and while the CFA L1 will certainly help to boost your candidacy, you need to be at a local/international target university or have fluency in certain languages (more so for Asia, eg Mandarin for HK/SEA languages for SG) to get in.

Yes
You can do it.

no clue, sorry
I see. It's ok. Do you recommend CFA in general for slipping in BB either in IBD or AMD or Investment research?

Yes and he can make a YouTube channel dedicated to the CFA.
I see. I got the CFA book for free from the 2nd hand book shop. I will start studying. Even if I fail to make it to BB, my efforts wont go to waste.

I see. Thanks for the info.
The CFA will never hurt. However, for banking a more recognizable school would probably be better.
I am also studying for the CFA. How long does level 1 take to finish up?
