Banker hangouts in NY?

Just saw the post "Banker hangouts in LA?" and was wondering where you guys in NY typically hangout?

Post-work and/or weekends

Ulysses, Pig n Whistle, PJ Clarkes, Circle, Pink Elephant, J Tree, East Village, Meat packing...the list goes on.

LOL I have been to Circle and although there may be some K-AM bankers the more successful ones will generally hang out at more 'prestigious' places. I don't know too much about the bars (although I'm guessing the bar at Del Frisco's would be good) and Dorrian's on UES has a lot of Harvard grads. From personal experience there are ALWAYS bankers at SL, Avenue, and Provocateur. Late late night they can also be found at 1Oak. The day/night brunch at the Plaza is more popular than Bagatelle these days and newly opened Villa Pacri is popular with bankers (esp the European ones).

Do most wall-streeters/people in the city worry about the "prestige" of their hangouts? I get wanting to go somewhere nice, but I don't want to worry about "prestige" when I'm just trying to have a good time...

if you are into the fancy, high end night life I'd suggest scouring Soho. It's full of expensive and extremely nice restaraunts but also costs approximately 1.5 as much as a very similar place in, say, Brooklyn.

I love Ganselvort, but you said you wanted to get away fom meatpacking... If you want to go hotel rooftop bar, Penninsula has rooftop, and Hudson Hotel is nice too. Keep in mind context though... above are good for after work going out, and I'm a woman--my bar experience is probably different from yours. SoHo or Tribeca sre good too, but friday and sat can be overrun with bridge + tunnel crowd.

without making any "judgements"...here are some places that come to mind:

pink elephant bowery bar joshua tree ("mini-roof-raise" to the Murray's Hill pilot from LeveragedSellout) Hiro PM Level V APT Libation

...but i think i'm a few years behind = old. so many of these places probably are "not in" anymore.

what about restaurants? now that i have a girlfriend, i find this to be the more importnat search. some of my favorites:

biancas el faro (just went there this past weekend = true spanish food) Chin Chin any simple italian joint that gives you a lot of food

Off the Wagon or any place on McDougal that gives 2 for $2 Coors Light.

Personally, I say forget clubs and spend your money at the city's very nice restaraunts. Danny Meyer's establishments come to mind.
