Hi Intern in IB - Gen, no, I never sleep and so I can respond to any lonely threads (like this one) at all hours of the night. Impressive, I know ;-)

More suggestions...

I hope those threads give you a bit more insight.

I don't think recruiting for LevFin follows the same timeline as IB or Capital markets; also SA21 recruiting last year was a mess.

I applied as soon as they opened, in mid-October I was told that applications for LevFin were no longer open and I was encouraged to apply to the regular IB program (too bad they told me after ACs for IB were already out). Later in February 2021, I received an email from an associate in the LevFin team to schedule a first-round interview for a SA position.

Edit: This is for London; a friend of mine was in the process for DCM and he had a similar experience/timeline

Tbf they are running a whole separate process as a relatively small group, wouldn't expect it to be the smoothest esp if it's the first time. Could you share any more details on how they structured it last year?

When they reached out in February I'd already accepted another offer so I didn't go through the process. My friend in DCM (I assume the processes are similar) did a 1st round (one 30min interview) and then AC (not sure how many interviews or if there was a case study).

Did not interview for BofA IB (nor Global Research for that matter), from what I can remember they did most 1st rounds in Sept. and then ACs in October (someone in last year's megathread mentioned they were doing one AC per week throughout October, but I'm not sure how accurate that is)

I had my first PI for the London LevFin SA yesterday. I was interviewed by someone from the Paris office, which I found weird. I’m French and studying in a French school so that might be why. It was a bit technical but nothing too crazy. Got some questions about LBOs and some basic accounting. Also, a bit about debt products. But then again, it might be completely different if your interviewer is based in London. From my experience, London interviewers are way more focused on fit and motivation, that’s why I’m really hoping to get someone from there for my next rounds (assuming i passed the first one haha)

My friend interviewed with them. Sounded quite technical compared to other interviews we’ve been in the process for but I guess it makes sense because you’re recruiting for a specific group so they expect some level of comprehension

Don’t know if this is how it works, maybe undergrads and masters are done separately though?

Judging by the comments here, it wouldn’t be unreasonable to believe offers are sent out ~10 days after AC?
Nervous because I’m hearing people from DCM/ECM receive offers the following Monday  :)

Levfin are the only team that run their own process separately (ECM/DCM have multiple region/industry teams involved in the process), and their timelines usually vary. For summer 2021 they told everyone to fuck off initially and then asked people in March if they’re still interested. For summer 2022 the process was smoother (AC on 3rd, offer on 10th) although things are a little different and they simply may not fully know who/how many ppl they want with everything going on right now. Just for reference they took 7 interns this year and converted all 7 - JP’s levfin team is considerably larger and they took 6 interns. Keep your head up, hopefully you’ll get the call soon.
